Delightful and welcoming pub serving really exceptional and delicious food. Staff very friendly. Room clean and well appointed if a bit chilly. Would definitely stay again.

Disliked: Room comfort
Room was ok but very noisy, no soundproofing and thin adjoining door, I could hear clearly everything from too next door and from behind, not good if you need sleep, Bed however was very comfortable breakfast was amazing, parking easy, just the noise levels need to be addressed.
The team were very welcoming and the service was great. The room was clean, tidy excellent amenities - everything you could ask for. The menu is limited with few vegetarian options but the staff are excellent
We stayed for 1 night at this gem of a place!
We arrived quite late but managed to get into the restaurant just before they finished serving.
The food was outstanding! Not an extensive menu. A few pub classics such as fish and chips. I had an open fish pie which was delicious.
We had breakfast the next morning which was equally as good.
We did say it was a shame we didnt live nearer as we'd definitely return for a meal.
The rooms were recently modernised we were told and were lovely! A good size too and clean. A nice touch was to have a little bottle of fresh milk in the fridge to have with our tea and coffee instead of the usual longlife!
This pub deserves to do well as they've put alot of effort into it and it shows!
Lunch not so great as bread was stale & mouldy. Breakfast the next day was good although coffee was only luke warm. Getting coffee in the room via the Nespresso machine was better. Radiator in bathroom did not work & light bulb in bedside table lamp not working - both reported to staff. Both not fixed during our stay. Bed & pillows comfortable but room but not dark enough due to inefficient curtains - no cover up for front door panel & also lights shining from TV & carbon monoxide monitor & heating connection in room .

Nice check in. Clean but the beds creaked so badly. Both singles were like that. Pretty fundamental. Lovely breakfast in the morning. Really high standard. But if you want a good nights sleep avoid the king William room.
This is not a 4 star nor a 3 star as this is more a lodging. Cannot open room door after returning from dinner but not a staff in site all is asleep by 10:30pm. The door latch was jammed. Nearly had to sleep in my car. No emergency number to call nor any communication process on reception as there is zero reception. Spent nearly 2hrs trying to get into my room. The shower was very good but the screen allow water to leak and nice lots of towels. The coffee machine disaster that does not hold room coffee cup. Toppled out of the machine and coffee spilled but cup smashed to pieces. What a nightmare stay. The staff are polite and nice but overall the worst experience in a hotel ever.
The room was clean and fresh.
Bedding very uncomfortable and mattress very hard. Not a great night sleep.
Bed size excellent
On arrival the first thing said was”you owe £15 for early check in” no pleasantries at all very disappointing. We had driven 6hrs to get there so would have been nice to ask to offer coffee or drink.
Bar staff in evening very good and quiz master brilliant.
Evening meal was excellent.
Breakfast - ok, mushroom so watery that my plate was filled with water. Had to ask for toast as did not arrive with breakfast.
Breakfast Sadly this was a disappointment as despite breakfast being included we had to leave at 0730 before breakfast starting at 0800 ( which we do understand ) but enquiring on arrival at 1500 when we asked if something like a continental even a croissant was possible we were told no , further request of perhaps just orange juice we could have to take up to substitute breakfast we were told no. It was not the message but the manner in which we were spoken to was negative and unhelpful . I’m sure we are not the first to need to leave early and it was 16 hours notice I hope the premises might consider clients needs be it simple and inexpensive in the future and perhaps staff be sympathetic to requests even if having to deliver a negative message
But I have to say that the room was very well presented , modern decor , super clean white linen bright , bathroom likewise . Great tea / coffee/ hot chocolate available . Comfortable bed .
Again minor issues that perhaps staff should have dealt with pre arrival , no spare toilet roll , TV channels 2/3/4 not working poor signal / TV remote damaged battery within!
Dining room clean and nice ambience good ( apart from when heavy rock music played) menu and food good . Service not brilliant !
