Extremely clean throughout the property and especially our room. The bathrooms modern and contemporary look, made me feel like i paid way more for my stay. The free breakfast was really yummy, and lots to choose from. I didnt expect such a variety for a complementary breakfast. Staff was super friendly, anyone wearing a staff shirt that passed by us, always smiled and said hi. It really is the simplest details, that make customers happy, comfortable and returning!

A smoke detector started beeping, intermittently, directly outside our door at 3 am. Clearly a low battery. There was no safe chair for us to use to remove the battery. Called the front desk, “ no engineer on duty”! When we checked out at 9 am it was still beeping. Front desk gave lame excuse ( we went up and it wasn’t beeping so we cleared the issue ). I pointed out we told the desk it was intermittent so standing there for 2 minutes wouldn’t have necessarily detected it. For goodness sake check with your guests to see if the problem resolved. No real apology or effort made. In the midst of trying to get back to sleep, I flipped my pillow over and found a piece of half eaten candy/ mint stuck to the pillow case. Sorry Hampton Colchester but we will never stay at your location again.

Great room. Have stayed multiple times, enjoy the staff and good free breakfast. We did get put in handicap accessible 2 times, we were unsure why, so 1 didnt have a bathtub and sinks were lower for getting ready. I will say the TV situation with not linking to on demand personal channels seems dated. But again, we've chosen this hotel multiple times, beds are comfortable and clean.
