BEWARE: this hotel is a fraud. If you like overspending for rooms that are dirty and of very poor quality, this hotel is for you. Under no circumstances can this be considered a “Five Star Hotel”. Maybe with some effort it could be a 3 star hotel.
We arrived with reasonable expectations. We had spent the previous two days at the Hilton Puerto Madero for an event. That hotel was phenomenal. This one disappointed the moment we stepped into the lobby.
The check in was abnormally slow. We were the only ones checking in and it took more than 20 minutes. The lobby had a peculiar smell, a little bit like sewage. Furniture was old and chipped in the edges and the walls were severely overdue with a pain.
We were given the keys to our room. Getting off the elevator, we were welcomed by a torn and stained carpet and a cramped and dark hallway. This place retains the design of a 1990s hotel that hasn’t been updated since.
We stepped into our room. It also smelled. We were given an accessible room, not having asked for it, with a shower head that was 5 feet above the ground and not high enough for being used comfortably. The furniture was cheap, old, and chipped. The surfaces were dusty. There was a white powder on the shelves of the very small closet showing that, whoever cleans this place, does so terribly.
The floors were dirty. You could see filthy marks of accumulated dust on the edges. Again: their cleaning standards are terrible, and no one seems to keep standards.
