Lauir is amazing as is his colleague at the front desk. They, along with the LOCATION make this hotel a perfect choice. The building is from the late 1600’s which in itself lends such a charm. It is on the Grand Place in the middle of Brussels. We stayed for three nights in December 2025 and enjoyed watching the light show from our room window. If you are a person who prefers amenities rather than an experience or location, do everyone a favor and don’t book this place so that others can have the fantastic experience and love the location. Breakfast is included at the cutest old cafe across the plaza. It is a fixed menu consisting of a plain omelette, orange juice, your choice of coffees, hot chocolate, and tea, the BEST chocolate and regular croissants, plain toasts, selections of jams, and slices of cheese and ham. It is DELICIOUS!
The room is fairly large and despite ours being right on the Grand Place, once the inner windows are closed, one can barely hear anything outside.
We found the beds comfortable but our traveling partners felt they were too hard. The sheets were nice and not scratchy. The pillows are doable but are fairly lofty and don’t give much. The bathroom is adequate and gets the jobs done.
The view from our rooms were spectacular.
The restaurant under the hotel is DELICIOUS and also owned by the hotel owner.
There is a lot to see within walking distance.
We will stay here again if we ever return to Brussels.
