Stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Brussels Airport and unfortunately had a very bad experience from start to finish.
On arrival, the sofa bed in the room was completely broken and slanted, making it impossible for anyone to sleep on. Tried calling reception multiple times for assistance, but no one answered. Eventually had to go downstairs to ask for help in person. The receptionist was just sitting there and letting the phone ring off the hook and didn’t acknowledge at first and when the situation was finally explained, she said a colleague would come to the room. No one ever arrived, and the issue was never resolved.
The breakfast experience was just as disappointing. There were no plates, no cutlery, and barely any food available. Guests were standing around waiting for items to come out of the kitchen, only to be told “in a minute,” with nothing actually appearing. There was even broken glass on the floor, which is a safety concern. Ended up eating plain bread rolls because there was no butter left. Staff were rude and uninterested in helping.
When checking out, mentioned that no one had come to help with the broken bed, the response was dismissive, and was told “at least there were sheets!”
This stay was far below the standards I expect from an IHG property. I would not return and cannot recommend this hotel based on this experience.
