Went above and beyond

The owners and staff went above and beyond in making us feel welcome and in helping us. When we checked in we were given a free upgrade, because we were staying several days and there were higher-priced rooms that had not been reserved (post Labor-day). They supply everyone with a "goody bag" containing the makings for S'mores (to be made in fire rings near the creek) and fish food to feed the young trout that they are raising in tanks behind the hotel for release into the creek. We were given great advice on places to visit. The staff supplied us with plates from the kitchen to heat the leftovers from our meal at their restaurant. (We were quite pleased with the restaurant, by the way.) They also gave us tea bags, coffee capsules, and a small pitcher of milk for our breakfasts in our room. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The facility is old and a bit funky, but the bed was comfortable and we were quite happy there. Don't expect a modern luxury resort.

Cleaning lady goes great job turning over the room daily. Restaurant food was good. Sometimes they get overwhelmed by too many people plus short staffing but always friendly.

Travel to this place at least 2 to 3 times a year for past 10 years. This time the service was not as good as usual. I had booked 2 nights and later decide to arrive there one day earlier a f booked a different room as the other one was not available. The “Littles” were not there and the service counter person was being rude for some reason. I did request of possible to Check into our regular room the second day of it was ready .. as I was there . They said “no” and I had to check out by 11 and sit till 3 pm check in time. I had my baggage and had to load it up to the car And wait to check in … wasting my day, instead of doing some activities in the area. I had booked two rooms for 3 nights and had recommended it highly to family .. but was disappointed that they couldn’t accommodate a little request. The water level was very low and the water wasn’t heating in the shower.

Really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed here from 8/5/25 11pm- 8/7/25 11am. Not only was it a beautiful area to stay with their cabin like and wagon rooms but the scenery was great. There was a creek you could do a bonfire by, just as many around the “settlement”. They also had areas for you to just sit and eat and barbecue and one area where you could play games like: jenga, and others. In this area there was also a fish tank with trout, the place gives you a little bag to feed them. The employees and owner were amazing not only with us but I saw it with everyone. Kept asking if we were finding everything ok, very helpful and welcoming. They also have a restaurant in there which serves all breakfast, lunch and dinner at their designated times in case you don’t want to travel far for food and stay there. The food was great. We enjoyed their breakfast at one point and dinner. The host and servers here were also amazing. Kept checking in on us and just went above and beyond. I truly loved this place along my husband and kiddos. We have already made plans to stay here again once Yosemite has water in the waterfalls, as we came when things were dry lol. Definitely recommend!!

They have a camping kitchen that they open early and close at 10pm I believe. You can make coffee, microwave food, wash your dishes and use the fridge.

This is a great find! Creekside cabins, fire pits for evening rest time, pet friendly, and funky restaurant serving tasty meals. So much better than generic alternatives. Book this place!

Location is good away from everything and right on the main road. Welcome gift for S’more’s, but once my son took a bite, he spit it out due to old biscuits. Gas grill next to the unit was very convenient and stream sounds are great. Bunk bed mattress is very hard, my son didn’t get a much sleep, restaurant is very cute and high priced, but majority of profits supports trout hatchery projects which is great to know. One night was good but I would find somewhere else if we come back next time. The room without kitchen doesn’t come with silverware or mug cups. And local stores don’t have them. Just bring the bar down for the foods expectation, and prepare thick wallet. Foods in other restaurants were pretty minimum for high price. I will pack better next time food wise, and come back to Travertine springs and Bodie!
