Welcome to Between Two Sands, our family beach house on a quiet private road in York Beach. Spend your days at Long Sands or Short Sands, walk into town for ice cream and arcade games, then come home to dinner on the screened porch and an evening around the fire pit.

With four bedrooms, room for up to 10 guests, and beach gear to lighten your packing, the house makes it easy to settle into a Maine beach week.

WALK TO BOTH BEACHES

Our location puts both sides of York Beach within walking distance:

• Long Sands for beach days and walks along the water
• Short Sands for the beach, restaurants, shops, playground, and arcade
• York’s Wild Kingdom for a family outing close to home

Local pedestrian cut-throughs offer shorter routes than some driving directions show. Many guests park when they arrive and use their car very little during their stay.

SPACE TO GATHER AND UNWIND

The main floor brings the living room, dining area, and kitchen together so everyone can stay connected while cooking, playing games, or relaxing after the beach.

The screened porch is a favorite gathering spot for morning coffee, family meals, reading, and evening card games. Outside, enjoy the yard, gas grill, and fire pit. A hot-and-cold outdoor shower makes rinsing off after the beach easy.

FOUR BEDROOMS

• First floor: Queen bedroom
• Second floor: Two queen bedrooms
• Second floor: One bedroom with a queen bed and twin-over-full bunk bed

Fresh bed linens and pillows are provided. Window air conditioners serve all four bedrooms and the main living area.

There is one full bathroom on the first floor and a half bathroom upstairs, plus the seasonal outdoor shower.

COOKING AND EVERYDAY CONVENIENCES

The refreshed kitchen features painted cabinetry, updated hardware, a new sink and faucet, and a garbage disposal. It’s stocked with cookware, dishes, glassware, and utensils for breakfasts, beach lunches, and dinners at home.

You’ll also find:

• Coffee maker, Keurig, and coffee grinder
• Microwave, toaster, and blender
• Washer and dryer
• Wi-Fi and smart TV
• Keyless entry

Please note that the kitchen does not have a dishwasher.

We keep a selection of beach chairs, beach toys, boogie boards, a beach wagon or cart, and family games for guests to enjoy. If a particular item is essential to your trip, please ask before booking so we can confirm availability.

We had a wonderful time staying at this beach home. The home was very clean and comfortable, and the host was easy to work with. We walked to the beach every day, walked to the quaint downtown shops and eateries, and walked to the brewery at the end of the road. The host provided many beach items such as a beach umbrella and a wagon which really came in handy. Our grandchildren loved the bunk bed and the many toys and books in the home. It was an awesome family vacation!!

Great beach vacation

We stayed here for my sons 6th birthday to spend time at the beach. We loved the house and the town, and had a few great beach days in between cloudy weather. Would definitely recommend this property!

The house was spotlessly clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed for a relaxing beach vacation. It was very well equipped with kitchen appliances and ice maker. Beautiful yard, with fire pit. And a very convenient outdoor shower! It was really nice having use of children's toys. My 4 year old granddaughter gets bored easily, and there were so many new things for her to use. Our host Amy, seemed very invested in our vacation being perfect.

It's a perfect place for a family. Everyone gets their own room, there's plenty of space in the enclosed porch to relax, and it's a short walk to the beach. You can't go wrong!

Had a perfect vacation staying in the VRBO. The home ia located in a great spot and is nice & roomy with 4 bedrooms & 2 bathrooms. It easily accomodated a family of 6. The kids had a blast with the toys available in the outdoor shed. Short Sands beach and the town of Short Sands was an easy walk from the home. We hope to return soon!

This place is perfect for us. Really quiet and safe for the children (it's on a private dirt road away from the crowds) but a 5-10 minutes walk will bring you to short sands beach or long sand beach, your choice ! The house is super comfortable and everything is there for families. We will be back !

Such an ideal location, great house, so well furnished. We were 10 and all had an amazing stay. The outdoor living - the screened porch/outdoor shower/firepit/grass area… - was where we spent most of our time, and the short walk to the beach was pleasant. Amy was fast to respond and very helpful. Strongly recommend and would go back!

As in the past everything was perfect! The owners thought of everything. It was very clean and it felt like home. We couldn’t get a better location. You park the car for the week and can walk everywhere from the house. My family loves your home.The screened porch and the outdoor shower are our favorite places at the house. GREAT VACATION HOME!

We have rented many homes, and we loved that this rental provided all our essentials coffee filters, toilet paper, soap in the restrooms and kitchen, and garbage bags, to name a few, were there and waiting for us, so we could immediately go the beach. This was so thoughtful of them. We also loved the little touches of the fire pit with wood, toys for our grandson, and the outdoor shower! It was glorious!

Perfect Location!

A fun time was had by all! This house could not have been in a better location- literally between 2 sands! Long Sands beach, with its packed sand, was perfect for evening walks, reading and playing some volleyball. Short Sands beach had sun, sand, and a nice breeze- a perfect beach day. And how many people can say they WALKED to the zoo?! Everything less than 10 minutes away. Plenty of room for all at the house. Nice quiet neighborhood. Would def stay again!
