Comfortable, well-run, convenient location

The hotel was very nice with an unusually large room, creative, inventive decor on firehouse themes, a good, varied breakfast (with a few vegan options) and helpful staff. It's also close to the Kendall T, coffee shops and good walking. A great first stay. Would stay again.

Great front desk service but a terrible room

The front desk service was warm, friendly, and accommodating. They apologized upfront from Hotels.com's sneaky fine print extra fee of $30 that they said almost no one sees until they're taken by surprise. They offered to bring us a roll-a-way bed for my son for FREE because they felt bad. They were all so very kind. The room, however, was a different story. The view was of a brick building 15 feet away. The AC didn't work on a hot day and it was like a sauna in there. My son and I had trouble sleeping because it was so hot. And the bathroom reeked of a combination of urine and mildew, and the shower curtain was covered in a straight line of black mildew (or mold?) along the bottom. For over $500 a night, which was a really rare treat for us, I expected something so much more comfortable.

The Firehouse was very neat! I loved all the little details! Staff were very kind and helpful. Breakfast was good! Parking was very tight, and the air did not get cool enough the final night. Overall, would absolutely recommend for a unique stay in a great location!

The charm of this hotel begins as you enter the front doors. The concierge were very helpful and allowed us to check our luggage in the morning before check in. The King sized bed and couch were very comfortable. The breakfast included was very good and plentiful with a lot of options. Our only regret was we never made it up to the top floor enclosed roof study, reading room.

The Kendall hotel is a gem to find over by MIT. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated. The lobby was charming and beautifully styled, with a quaint vibe that really highlighted the hotel’s unique setting in an old firehouse. The overall atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff were excellent—friendly and very helpful. Parking was convenient, with a small garage just around the corner. Even though we arrived late to breakfast, there was still plenty available, and it was delicious with lots of options. Across the street is the T station, so you can get anywhere around the city. We would definitely come back here again and I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone
