Service is incredible. Audrey (@ the front desk) was wonderful and helped set the tone for our entire visit. The rest of the staff were terrific as well. The food was great and Katie was a fantastic server. We loved our room. Also, the location of the hotel is perfect for touring Salem by foot!

I’ve stayed here before a number of times and it’s been a hit! This time, it was a miss. The room (an economy room - I would not choose again) was small, bubbled wallpaper, and not very clean when we asked for an upgrade (willing to pay for it) I was told because we booked through Expedia it was not possible. I kind of felt they didn’t like Expedia booking so didn’t want to make the effort. So we stayed in a very marginal room but.. enjoyed great drinks and staff at the Tavern. Long story bearable., get the better room .. they will not accommodate upgrades. Still a great location.

King room stay on the 6th floor. Dinner and drinking were great at the tavern. This hotel is right at the end of Essex Street. Perfect stay for a quick stay in Salem.

Great location - historic hotel. If you want up to date luxury, this isn't for you. Our room was cosy and quirky - the shower was a converted wardrobe with just enough room for me to turn and wash myself. Full of old world charm - no sign of ghosts!

The staff was phenomenal, from Lauri at the front desk and the beginning of our stay, the waitstaff, especially our waitress in the Tavern Thursday evening, as well as all the staff on the floor areas were assets to this company. You felt safe, comfortable and like you were with friends. The building had beautiful decor, the parking was an extra bonus. An A⁺ scoring.
