300 level rooms (ours was 301) was one floor up from the patio of the bar downstairs. Music blasted on their outdoor speakers from 10 AM until 1:00 AM the following morning. The later I got the more rowdy, the people became. There was a dartboard and a pong table going on with drunk girls screaming at the top of their lungs and the music blaring. Told hotel staff about it. They said there was nothing we can do about it because it was October in Salem. we stay at Hilton's all the time and have never experienced this level of noise and disrespect from staff. Hotel maid barged in on us at 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM without a knock or notice. We were only scheduled for two nights and didn't think housekeeping would be a problem.

The bed was not made properly when we got there. Basically no sheets on the bed. We had to ask each day for new towels, and it seemed it was putting them out. I would only recommend it because it’s great location to Essex Street

If I could rate a certain staff member alone I would but unfortunately I cannot. Jose at the front desk was unpleasant, not helpful and seemed as though we were disrupting him from his front desk duties. We arrived earlier than 3pm check in and advised we had to wait until 3 but around 1ish we saw that he was checking in other guests. We had to approach the front again to ask to be placed in our room at this point after a discussion between the two of us he ended up giving us the room because we were already upset that we were overcharged over $300 more for the same room they were offering cheaper for the same dates we were staying at the hotel. When I asked Jose to accommodate us and change the price to the price reflected on the hotels website and Expedias website he advised if we canceled we would still be charged the $800 charge for one night. I explained that Expedia has no problem with us canceling as long as he said ok and that we would rebook on Hilton’s website and Expedia even tried to call Jose on our behalf. He refused both me and Expedia staff. No manager was available either days of our stay and nobody ever reached out. Dayibe was very helpful by giving us pamphlets, maps and little helpful tidbits around the area as this was our first time in Salem. 5 stars for her and the kitchen staff at breakfast who were sweet, warm and kind and for the cleaning people who found my friends wallet. The room itself smelled poorly. Still waiting for a call by mgmt

Fantastic location a block away from historic Salem and all of its activities and dining. Room was spacious and very clean. Breakfast options were nice and I loved that coffee was available throughout the day.

The staff was excellent. Especially the housekeeping staff - just phenomenal service. If you are given a room above the front entrance please be aware there is a bar called the Tipsy Cowboy located in the corner of the building. Unfortunately, the windows in the rooms are NOT soundproof. Not even close. Until approx. 1 in the morning it sounded like the people enjoying the bar were in the room with us! So after a long day enjoying beautiful Salem, we had to listen to screaming, cursing and inappropriate conversations. Not the best thing when you are traveling with your kid. When I called the front desk to ask when the bar closed I was told "that's Salem in October". Ok, that's great. People can have all of the fun they want....but not on my dime when we want to rest. We paid $900 a night...yes, that's right. $900 a night for the convenience of staying right in Salem in October - supply & demand. I don't think expecting to be able to rest and sleep in our room is too much to ask. Perhaps they should let guests know the situation in these rooms so they can decide if that is a location that is acceptable to them. When I mentioned this to the front desk on day 2, I was told that they wanted to check us in so we didn't have to wait for another room to be clean. Guess what....I would have waited. I was also told the hotel manager called the bar to expediate "last call". I appreciate that - but again that doesn't help me when I'm exhausted and want to rest.

FANTASTIC 10 STAR STAY!

Our stay was great. Excellent location! Close enough to walk to everything but far enough from essex to enjoy the quiet. Our room was clean, the hotel was clean, staff was friendly. A free breakfast was offered but we never ate at the hotel. The free coffee in the lobby was great! The Tipsy Cowboy restaurant is right beside the hotel on the corner and it was one of our favorite meals during our trip to Salem. Highly recommend the hotel and the restaurant!

Breakfast was decent. Room was not up to standard. Mold around floor sealant of shower that stood out. Floor was sticky from whatever it was cleaned with. Staff was nice but not properly trained on how to clean and handle black batbroom mold or lacked the proper cleaning chemicals. Notified front desk. Had bathroom cleaned again and again did not treat the mold...Also I did have a dog flee on me. Could have been picked up from breakfast. I had my room vacuumed after properly identifying it. Over all great location. Its a Hampton not sure if you location made up for all the flaws.
