This is the first time I was disappointed with a stay at a Courtyard by Marriott. The staff were exceptional. I had requested an upper room and opposite the highway: my room was on the 2nd floor over the highway. The room had a decidedly industrial smell to it - as it the cleaning materials used were for a factory rather than an hotel. The lighting was so dreadful and bright, I think I got a sunburn. Not only outrageously bright (like the worst flourescent lighting) but so poorly located as to blind you when you neared the bed.
