The area is rather remote but the ideal place to see puffins up close -- literally at your feet from the viewing platform that the town has built next to the puffin nesting area. The breakfast and dinner at the hotel were very tasty!

Alfheimer is a gem on the east coast. We decided to stay another night. The staff is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Accommodations were perfect with a comfortable bed and great tasting food. This is perfect for puffin watching(7 min drive). The northern lights are right outside the room or the hotel. Thats how dark it is next to the hotel. The breakfast was very good.
