The location on Lake Moultrie is great and the property has a lot of potential, but unfortunately there were numerous maintenance and housekeeping issues during our week-long stay.The A/C did not adequately cool the downstairs of the boathouse, so we had to buy a large fan. The master shower drain was clogged and nearly overflowed, which I had to fix. The vacuum was clogged and has a wheel that was broken off and not fixable. The washing machine has scorching hot water only—no cold water.The windows/back door aren't sealed well, allowing bugs inside, and ants were a problem in the boathouse. The outdoor ceiling fan didn't work, the grills were filthy so we bought one, there were no kitchen towels or can opener, and not enough dishwasher pods for the week. We also had to buy a usable hose for the outdoor faucet/fire pit for safety reasons.There was dog waste from previous guests in the yard, which I cleaned up, and the grass had not been cut. Wi-Fi in the boathouse was weak and only 5 GHz was available. Interior access to the boathouse was locked, making boat access awkward.The lake/channel was extremely low—not the owner's fault, but boaters should check levels before coming. The balcony had too many active wasp nests to be usable.The property could be great, but it needs considerably more attention to maintenance and preparation between guests.
