Villa in Lake Bolsena with 5 bedrooms sleeps 18

Villa Camilla is a private residence designed for guests who want the freedom of a countryside home, the atmosphere of an authentic Italian estate and the ease of a stay shaped around slow living, family time and open-air conviviality. Set in the area of Bolsena, between the gentle landscape of the lake, the Umbrian borderlands and the cultural pull of Orvieto, the villa feels suspended between water, stone villages, olive groves, gardens and long summer evenings outdoors.

This is not a villa conceived simply as accommodation. Villa Camilla is a place to live in: to cook, gather, read, swim, light the outdoor oven, sit by the fire, share wine under the trees, and let the days unfold at a softer rhythm. It is particularly well suited to multigenerational families, groups of friends, retreats, intimate celebrations and guests looking for a house with soul rather than a purely formal luxury property.

The property has been created around space, comfort and accessibility. One of its most important features is the presence of areas that can be accessed by wheelchair with ease. From the parking area to the entrance there are no obstacles, and the gardens, including the swimming pool area, are also accessible. Inside, the ground-floor double bedroom, the kitchen, the study and the living room are wheelchair accessible, allowing guests with reduced mobility to participate naturally in the rhythm of the house.

The ground-floor double bedroom is particularly important: it has an entrance width greater than 81 cm, an accessible bathroom with raised sanitary fittings and a roll-in shower. On request, this room can also be prepared with two single beds, making it suitable for different guest configurations. This makes Villa Camilla a thoughtful choice for families or groups where comfort and mobility are essential considerations, without compromising the charm of a private Italian villa.

The interiors are warm and lived-in, with the kind of domestic atmosphere that encourages guests to settle in immediately. The living room is made for long conversations, aperitifs before dinner, quiet afternoons and evenings by the fireplace. The kitchen is not merely functional: it is a central part of the stay, a place where the first morning begins with coffee and bread, where local ingredients find their way into simple lunches, and where cooking experiences can become part of the holiday itself.

The study offers a quieter corner, ideal for those who need a moment of privacy, a little reading time or perhaps a remote-work interlude during a longer stay. Around the house, flowers in the bedrooms and reception rooms add a gentle, personal note, reinforcing the feeling of being welcomed into a home rather than a hotel.

Outside, Villa Camilla comes fully into its own. The gardens are maintained throughout the stay, the pool and surrounding area are cleaned daily, and the outdoor spaces invite guests to move between swimming, reading, dining, cooking and relaxing. The swimming pool is open from the first weekend of May to the last weekend of September, making the property especially appealing from late spring through early autumn. The villa also includes wood for the fireplaces, the external oven and the pit fire, with the pit fire available according to Umbrian legislation on outdoor fires.

There is a strong culinary identity at Villa Camilla. The stay begins with a generous welcome basket, including the essentials for the first breakfast: milk, yoghurt, eggs, juice, sliced bread, butter, jams, biscuits, packaged croissants, coffee and tea. Three bottles of wine and mineral water are also included, giving guests an immediate sense of arrival. This is a practical and elegant touch, particularly for guests arriving late or those who prefer not to rush to the supermarket on the first evening.

The rental price is based on 12 guests. Additional guests can be accommodated up to a maximum of 21 people, at a supplement of €65 per person per night. Final cleaning is not included and is charged at €430 per stay. Additional cleaning during the stay can be organised at €20 per hour. Heating, when required, is charged at €40 per day. A €400 deposit is required on arrival. Electric car charging is available at €10 per charge.

Included in the price are bed linen and towels, soaps, shampoo and conditioner, kitchen essentials such as oil, vinegar, sugar, salt and herbs, daily pool and pool-area cleaning, garden maintenance, electricity and water, firewood for the fireplaces, outdoor oven and pit fire, flowers in the bedrooms and living spaces, and the welcome basket with breakfast essentials, wines and mineral water.

The house rules are designed to preserve the quality of the property and the comfort of all guests. Air conditioning is available only in the bedrooms. The city tax for Orvieto is paid in cash on arrival at €2.20 per person per night. Smoking is allowed outdoors, provided guests use the ashtrays supplied, but smoking is not permitted in the bedrooms. Pets may be accepted free of charge on request, subject to approval by the property and provided they are well behaved and safe around people and other animals. Parties are permitted only with prior approval from the property and must respect the usual standards of civil living. Disco equipment is not allowed, and no undeclared additional guests may stay at the property. Friends or relatives may visit for the day or evening only with the prior permission of the property.

## In-villa food experiences

One of the most beautiful ways to enjoy Villa Camilla is through its food experiences. These are informal, local, tactile and deeply Italian. They are not designed as stiff fine dining moments, but as generous, convivial rituals around the table.

A signature proposal is the pizza evening in the garden, cooked in the wood-burning oven. Guests can enjoy bruschette with tomato and basil, bruschetta with local extra virgin olive oil and garlic, bruschetta with aubergine and olive mix, white pizza with oil and rosemary, pizza pepperoni with mild or spicy salami, classic Margherita with tomato, mozzarella and fresh basil, pizza with potatoes, cheese and rosemary, and a simple tomato, basil and olive oil pizza, with anchovies, oregano and hot peperoncino added on request. Roasted vegetables such as peppers, courgettes, potatoes and onions complete the table.

This pizza menu is priced at €45 per person with soft drinks included, or €40 per person without soft drinks, allowing guests to choose and purchase their preferred drinks independently. A person will attend in the evening to manage the fire, while guests can enjoy the process directly at the oven, watching the pizzas being cooked and served in a relaxed, self-service style.

For guests who wish to enrich the evening, a local biological sheep cheese and cured meat selection can be added, including different types of sheep cheese, Parma ham, mortadella and local salumi, at €25 per person.

For the first evening, lasagna is highly recommended. It is practical, generous and perfect after a day of travel, as it only needs to be placed in the oven. Served with fresh salad and fruit, it is priced at €35 per person.

Another house speciality is pasta al pesto with potatoes, following the original Genoese tradition: local organic extra virgin olive oil, fresh basil, pine nuts, pecorino and Parmigiano, with pasta cooked together with sliced potatoes. The cost is €18 per person.

Italian rice salad is also available in various versions, depending on guest preferences, at €20 per person.

Alcohol is flexible and can be chosen according to the guests’ taste. A stock of different wines and beers is normally available, with beer around €4 per bottle and bottled wine ranging from approximately €15 to €80 per bottle.

Children up to 6 years old are free of charge and pay only for any drinks consumed.

## Pizza and pasta making experiences

For a more interactive moment, Alessandro, the villa’s pizza man, is available for pizza-making lessons. This is one of the most charming experiences at Villa Camilla: informal, hands-on, family-friendly and perfectly suited to the setting.

The pizza-making experience begins at around 10:00 with dough preparation in the kitchen. Around 13:00 the dough needs to be turned, which Alessandro can do independently if guests are out exploring. At around 16:00 the outdoor oven is prepared. At 17:00 the ingredients are arranged: vegetables, potatoes, tomato sauce, mozzarella, anchovies, herbs and anything else chosen for the menu. At around 18:30 the pizzas are finished and placed in the oven, ready to be enjoyed around 19:30 or 20:00. The dinner time can also be postponed if guests prefer to eat later.

As an alternative, a pasta-making experience can be organised. This has a symbolic price of €200 in total for all participants. The dishes are left ready in the kitchen, and guests can choose whether to dine in the garden or in the main salon.

Waitress service can be organised at an extra cost: €20 per hour for lunch and €30 per hour for evening service.

## Camisa Essential bespoke experiences

Camisa Essential can arrange private chef dinners, additional in-villa meals, wine pairings, grocery pre-stocking, celebration dinners, informal barbecue evenings, private transfers, local drivers, guided visits and bespoke day trips.
