Blu Water Retreat is a newly renovated cabin directly on Cherry Lake in Blue Ridge with close proximity to historic downtown. If you are looking for a true log cabin with a modern industrial vibe, lots of outdoor deck spaces, dock, and boat ramp.
Whether you want to relax by the gas fireplace, cook in the new fully equipped kitchen, dine in the all glass dining room, hang out on the multi level decks, relax in the hot tub, swim, fish, or boat on the lake. Blu Water has it all.

Please note we have one security camera facing the driveway. Interior fireplaces turned off May 1 to October 1. Our televisions are Smart TVs and our programming is through Samsung Plus.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned cabin, which features a fireplace and a Smart TV. There's a private balcony. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected.

We had a great week in at the Blu retreat. The house was great for our family of four and our dog. My boys love to fish and the pond was beautiful. Unfortunately they didn’t have much luck fishing but had fun. We loved walking the area and seeing lots of wildlife. I think cozier seating in the living area and a larger crockpot would be helpful.

We absolutely loved our stay at this cabin! It was beautifully decorated, sparkling clean, and the view of the lake was breathtaking. The location felt peaceful but still close to everything we needed. We spent mornings kayaking and on the pedal boat, then cooked dinners in the wonderfully stocked kitchen. We loved our daily visits by a family of deer. It was the perfect spot for a relaxing getaway—can’t wait to come back!

Beautiful Location with a gorgeous view

My two daughters, ages 5 and 12, and I stayed at this property for 5 days. The house was smartly equipped with all the necessities. The view from the all glass dining room overlooking the water was stunning. The house was nestled up on a hill but still close to town with plenty to do including a fantastic ride on the Blue Risge scenic railway. It was a fantastic place to stay!

Perfect trip. One of our favorites spots to stay. Location is great with just a short walk to the lake. Loved fishing off the dock, floating on the lake and even taking out the paddleboat. Cabin had everything we needed and was well stocked. Loved sitting at the dinning room table and looking out to the lake. Lower level deck was huge and had everything from gas grill to tons of seating and a hot tub. Driveway was a little steep so that worried me at first but we were fine in our truck. Definitely will save this one for future visits.

Wonderful view

We really enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is as advertised and the pictures are accurate. It was very clean, had a great view, and was a great long weekend get away. We loved it, and would definitely stay here again. A few things to note and be aware of before you stay here1. We only stayed in the master bedroom because there were only 2 of us, so that is the only room I can speak too. The bed was very firm and to me very uncomfortable. I won't take a star off for that because that's preference. But if you like soft beds, being a pad. 2. The furniture in the living room looks great. Needs a recliner or 2. It's not the most comfortable. But you really don't spend that much time in it I guess. 3. The drive way is steep, right, and gravel. The road to the cabin is narrow and has lots of blind spots. I was thankful to have a 4x4 for the drive way just because of the loose gravel.

The highlight of our stay was 1) the lake and 2) the closeness to Blue Ridge. The cabin was disappointing. Damp towels were left in the dryer, mold in main shower, cobwebs/spiders upstairs and windows, ceiling light flickering in master bedroom, water puddles on kitchen floor, stair unsafe going to second level, no cable on main floor TV, recycle garbage inside. We've stayed many times in Blue Ridge. This is the first time we used VRBO. We were so disappointed.

Great Cabin for a Weekend Getaway

We stayed over a long weekend and had a great time. The cabin was clean and had access to a beautiful pond. It was a quiet area and wonderful for a little getaway. Communication was also a plus as VRBO had some technical issues and the owner, Michael, was quick to respond to my messages and get us the information.

This one is even better than it looked in pics. The fit and finish of the carpentry, the various stain & paint combinations on the planks and beams. All the light fixtures were really cool and a definite upgrade from the usual. The four areas overlooking the little lake were amazing. The master bedroom covered porch, the dining room "overlook", the deck chairs were a great spot under the tree canopy. And the lower level was its own special getaway. We loved the attention to detail in the bathrooms with the things one sometimes forgets to pack. Overall for us it was a great place to unplug, unwind and recharge ourselves. So relaxing.

A long weekend away.

We had a great time here! The cabin is well stocked and very cozy! We loved the hot tub and the views off the dock. My kids loved the outdoor space and the firepit. Would definitely stay again. Minutes from hiking and downtown Blue Ridge!
