Bar staff welcoming. Given Room 26 up two flights of stairs, a struggle for me, if I’d known I would have booked ground floor. Room OK, nice towels, hot shower (hose split so water came out of hose and shower head) good toiletries, but no toilet paper. Brought up to my room straight away after I phoned down to Bar. Good to have kettle and complimentary drinks, but there was no teaspoon! Radiator was hanging from wall on one clip, unsafe. No WiFi as network and password given were not recognised. I rang down for password, but the details brought up were the same as the ones already in the room. Comfortable bed, clean linens, quiet room despite facing very main road. I was attending a function elsewhere, so I didn’t eat in, but the food menu looked good with reasonable prices. Also, no problem with access after hours. Plenty of onsite free parking. I would stay there again

Staff were helpful with getting around. Sainbury's and M&S is a 10 minute walk. Post office and chemist 5 minute walk. Across the road from the train station which a 20 minute trip to the main centre of Birmingham. Traditional British breakfast was delish fast service, complimentary tea and coffee in the lounge.

Staff were excellent and so friendly. Nice atmosphere in the pub. Great value for breakfast. The accommodation was great value and a brilliant location next to the train station. I read the reviews before I booked. I'm struggling to understand some complaints, e.g., no tea/coffee, no TV remote, one bin, etc. I had no issue as it was simple to ask for the remote control (they may have reasons not to leave them in the room). There was tea/coffee in the room. I moved one bin to the room from the bathroom!

Firstly the rooms were only just about inhabitable the hot water was at best warm the toilet seat was only attached by one end so could fall off at any time. Foot prints in the shower tray. Now to the noise our room was right next to the exit that was being used as a smoking area. The social club had 2 events going on that night so the noise outside our room was so loud with people shouting and swearing until 12:30am not to mention people trying our door twice I even had to go out and ask people to be quiet as we were trying to sleep. According to their own house rules it was supposed to be quiet after 10 pm and we didn't get any rest until well after 1am. I have stayed in some rough places but this place takes the top spot. DO NOT EVER stay at this place if you value any peace and rest. I'd rather sleep in my car.

Room was lovely , smart and comfortable. Staff are always polite both on check in as well as the security guards on Friday. Would have given 5 star but for a few minor points which should be picked up as part of a standard checklist: No hangers on Rail No stirrer / spoon to make tea or coffee. Lacking a plastic bin.. there isn't one in bathroom or room bedroom. Would stop again as I will know what to bring

Lovely welcome from the lady at Reception., Friendly and polite Room spotless and comfortable and good value Kettle and cups provided... Sugar and milk (musing tea or coffee but had some sachets with me The only thing missing is a small bin for any rubbish etc but not a major issue. Would definitely recommend for the budget traveller and nice people.. would come again

Good location, nearly train station. Good price. Until 11pm much was very loud, because the bar is on the ground floor. The room was clean and nice. The rubbish bid didn’t in the room

It was a very basic, but clean room. Great, free parking with ease of access to car, good areas to smoke. The room was a good distance from the bar, else we would probably have heard some noise from the loud music and socialising youths. The only other issue was ours and other rooms' smoke alarms kept going off loud just as we went to bed then we overheard that someone was working on a fault - but it didnt last long. The remote for the TV was missing. Overall its what youd expect from a popular town pub inn at a reasonable cost. We eventually had a good quiet and comfy sleep and just went on our way the next morning.
