I asked for a room overlooking Birmingham city centre but the view we were given was into a office block also we have stayed here before and had much nicer rooms , larger and full length windows overlooking Birmingham

We were warmly welcomed and offered a choice of floor to stay on. The friendly receptionist also offered us a free late checkout which was great. Our room was clean. When we got back to our room at 2am after our night out we discovered the pillows were quite uncomfortable unfortunately. 9am and cleaning knocked on our door and entered which we did no appreciate do to not sleep well. We decided to not go down for breakfast as we were told it finishes at 10am we thought we would make use of the later checkout, only for the phone in the room to start ringing just after 11am to be told we should of left our room. I explained we were offered a free late checkout when we checked in. Our stay would have been perfect if breakfast was on till a bit later as it is a weekend and that we didn’t get disturbed by the cleaners and the telephone call

The first room, the room on top of us, was pouring water into out bathroom, we were moved. Breakfast the tables were a little to close as my wife and child struggled to move around. The staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was good.

Room clean and tidy but food very poor. Orange and apple flavoured drink rather than juice. Only scrambled egg, not fried, poached etc. Undercooked hash browns. Evening meal dissapointing - pie out of a packet, yet not cheap.

Unfortunate the rooms weren't available at 3pm when arriving, but when we did get in, the rooms were clean. However one had a very musty damp smell that wasn't very pleasant. The staff were friendly and it was close enough to walk to where we were going.
