1 out of 5 — Very Disappointing Stay
My experience at the Hilton Garden Inn Birmingham SE/Liberty Park was extremely disappointing. When we first checked in, we immediately noticed bugs in our room. When we brought it to the staff’s attention, it became clear that they were already aware of the issue, yet still allowed guests (including us) to stay in that room. That alone was very concerning.
Although they did move us to another room, the second room wasn’t much better — the coffee pot was dirty, the ceiling had multiple stains, and overall it did not feel clean. We didn’t want to keep complaining, but the conditions were not up to typical Hilton standards.
In the original room, the phone didn’t even work, so we had to use our personal phone to call the front desk about the bug problem.
The next morning, we realized we had forgotten a charger and asked the front desk if we could check the previous rooms. We were told that the bug-infested room had already been assigned to new guests who were currently sleeping in there. Honestly, that was shocking and unacceptable, especially knowing the staff was already aware of the bug issue.
Overall, this was not a good experience, and the lack of cleanliness combined with knowingly placing guests in a room with bugs is extremely concerning. I would not stay here again.
