The people make the difference

Maria was brilliant. Contacted me prior to arrival to check if I needed anything or information which made me feel confident about the stay beforehand, was very welcoming and personable and I felt genuine care about me and my stay at Domo. Couldn’t ask for anything more from a host and something which is rare in hotels in my experience.

Very efficient, clean, comfortable and very welcoming. The surrounding area felt a bit run down and unsafe. However the train station was nearby and there are several bus routes available.

Nice enough, but not worth the price

Paid double the price of a regular hotel, so that was of course always at the back of my mind during our stay. So, we were put on the ground floor where people on the street can look in. Made worse by the fact that they tried to upsell one of the upstairs rooms that cost even more, highlighting the fact that the extravagant price we had already paid wasn't enough to secure a decent room. There was no on-site staff so if you needed anything you had to call a number and go through a menu to get through to someone off-site who may or may not be available to deal with you at that time. We had to say the exact time we were arriving even though journey conditions and social arrangements meant we weren't sure, so we ended up waiting outside in the cold trying to get through to the staff. Then we were told that the breakfast time had to be set in advance so we had to be 100% sure on the time we want to eat even though we don't know how we're going to feel the next morning, once again leaving us with no flexibility. The food itself was nice, well presented. Small portions, but that suits us. The shower was a mist thing where only the water at the center got warmer while the outside was always cold. The fit an finish of the room was to a good standard and there was a big TV which might be of interest to some. Bed was comfortable. Overall, we got a better breakfast than a standard hotel, but much less flexibility and a worse shower at double the price. Not worth it for us.

Lovely short trip!

We stayed for one night as we were going to a concert at Utilia. We arrived later than planned so decided to have dinner at the hotel which was delicious. Room was lovely and exceeded expectations. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. We enjoyed breakfast in our room. We will definitely book here again next time we visit Birmingham.

Puppy trip.

From the moment we arrived Maria was a wonderful host. The interior styling was so stylish but welcoming. The layout of our room was lovely. Food and drinks service was tasty and offered an excellent amount of choice . We only wish we could have stayed longer but it was the perfect stay before we collected our new puppy the next morning.The mix of comfort and technology was incredible and made us feel relaxed and safe.
