Survived the night, but will not go back

The door was missing it's secondary safety locking mechanism, so I had to tuck a chair against the door, under the door knob to ensure no one could quickly enter. People were talking loudly in the parking lot until after 2 am. The light switches and cover plates were grimey and gross looking.

Great stay!

I had an issue in the beginning where people moved into the room next to me and they sounded like they were throwing a party - loud music, yelling at each other, and no respect for other people around them. This was addressed with the front desk who moved me to another room on the other side of the building. And for that, I am rating this a Good stay because the issue wasn't a hotel/staff issue, it was the people who have no respect for others issue. Bed was comfy and I slept 14+ hours after a long travel day. I loved that there were restaurants around that you could walk to and easy access to the interstate. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe here. I would stay here again.

This was my second time staying here. The first time was my trip from South Carolina to visit long time friends that live in northern Arkansas. The reviews were good so I reserved 1 night a few days before I departed from my home for an overnight stay while on my way to Arkansas (Birmingham is exactly halfway). I liked this hotel so much that I reserved a night for my return trip back home from visiting my friends in Arkansas. Continental breakfast was good both stays, room was clean and updated, very comfortable bed and check in was quick and easy. I highly recommend this hotel. Thank you Expedia and Days Inn!

Check-in was straightforward and the staff were very helpful. The room was clean and had all i needed, including a mini fridge, microwave and hair dryer. Breakfast options were limited but the fitness room was nice.

Manager was a jerk. Everything else good.

My wife went to get breakfast a little after 9. The batter was still out, and the waffle iron was still hot. When she went to make a waffle, the manager, ran out from behind the desk, shouted, "Breakfast ends at 9." Then took the batter from her hand, and threw it away. Everyone and everything else was good.

Very nice hotel, staff were great, room and bedding were clean and fresh. Next time I'm staying here will be my return trip back home from visiting friends in Arkansas.
