The rooms are in need of a refurb, extremely dated and the room smelt a little damp, there was lots of condensation on the windows and water on the window sill. On a positive note the bed was huge and really comfortable and we had great little extras like robes and a coffee machine and the view was gorgeous. We may stay again but we wouldn’t be rushing back.

Staff were really friendly, in reception, bar and at breakfast. We had a nice meal in the bar, including catering for dietary issues. Lots of choices at breakfast, and it was nice to have soya milk and non-dairy butter. Parts of the hotel are dated, but we like older traditional buildings. The rooms were fine, if a little warm. They were well equipped. The furniture was quite old style, but had obviously been of good quality when fitted. The bathroom was fairly modern, with nice toiletries. You had to enter your car registration on a tablet to get free parking, but I liked that there were huge signs and notices warning you to do this, so you couldn’t miss them. It was good value, cheaper than a local hotel from a well known budget chain.

Cool room radiator didn’t work, oil filled portable radiator which did not heat the room. Bathroom was dirty. Lift miles away from my room and still had to lift heavy suitcase up stairs. Limited dining, huge Asian wedding going on. No seats in bar area for hotel guests because of the wedding.

The staff were lovely. The area where my room was located smelled dank. The TV wire popped out. The curtain was ridiculous, it was old school and clang to when you showered.

stayed at the Bradford Mercure one Friday night in September, everything was fine until near 2am where I was abruptly awoken when two strangers entered my room after being issued a key card for the same room by reception. This was an extremely distressing experience, causing me significant stress, anxiety, and loss of sleep in the days since. The sense of intrusion and lack of security left me shaken and deeply concerned about the hotel’s safeguarding of its guests. What added further to my dissatisfaction was the response I received when I reported the incident the following morning. The member of staff at reception showed little to no concern for what had happened, which left me feeling dismissed and that the seriousness of the situation was not acknowledged at all. This incident is wholly unacceptable and despite promises via email from the general manager, I've yet to be provided an answer as to how this happened or even offered anything beyond a simple apology. Honestly, I would recommend that you stay almost anywhere else if possible, this hotel have shown me that they clearly do not care about customers or safety.

Needs maintenance and THOROUGH cleaning! Interiors very outdated. Right next to motorway...noisy. Doors beat up...walls dirty...carpets filthy. Staff didn't seem to care. Didn't take breakfast... Sad..because new additions are built around historic structure. Plenty of free on-site parking.

Having read reviews, I knew the hotel was a little "dated". It is!. But it was clean and comfortable. Very comfy bed. Had a really good night's sleep. Staff are all professional, and friendly. Perhaps Reception staff could offer help with carrying bags to rooms. My room was quite a long way from Reception: up an impressive baronial hall type staircase, along a corridor, then more stairs and through a couple of heavy fire doors. There's a big carpark, and the hotel is set back from the road so it's quiet. A pleasant dining room. I'd got a good deal with breakfast included. I like to have a late breakfast, and Mercure Bradford serve it till 11am. Suited me well. Staff were very helpful. Attentive, but not fussy. Breakfast was available till 11am, which I really liked. I'd be happy to stay again when travelling through the area.

Overall my stay was satisfactory. The hotel looks nice with period features. My room was very dated, on arrival and entering my room there was a number of flys around the window and flying around the room, along with ladybirds in the bathroom. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, as this was just somewhere to sleep due to work commitments it was satisfactory. I did also have an issue with my key card which ment I had to go back to reception twice to have this issue resolved.

Very convenient for LBA, room comfortable, easy parking, good breakfast, easy check-in / -out. Staff welcoming and helpful. Will use again. Only downside is sat-nav directions not hotel fault but drive difficult to spot on island at night
