Two kinds of Western UP days meet at Alpen Villa 7. The harbor day: drive west on Black River Road, stop at five waterfalls, and end at Black River Harbor where the river meets Lake Superior and the world gets very quiet. The trail day: ATVs in summer, snowmobiles in winter, the kind of riding you came to the UP for.

Alpen Villa 7 sleeps eight in two bedrooms, a full bathroom plus a half bath, a fully equipped kitchen, and a wood-burning fireplace with firewood provided. Your private balcony has a grill. The lower deck — shared with Alpen Villa 8 — has the hot tub. Both community firepits at the ends of the building are open to all guests. Inside: Pac-Man.

Big Powderhorn Mountain Resort is steps away. Alpen Villa 7 connects to Alpen Villa 8 for groups up to 16.
