Wonderful hotel worth a prime location. Just a few blocks from the Bahnhof, Bundesplatz right across the street, and just blocks from everything else. The lobby provides free still and sparkling water. There were free drinks and cookies upon check in. And there was free ice cream being offered because of the ongoing heatwave. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

Very convenient location for both the main sights of the old town and the train station. Helpful staff. I had booked a small room but it was fine in terms of size. A bit noisy early in the morning but it was on a main road so to be expected. I didn't have breakfast so can't comment on that. Free tea, coffee and ice cream available.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay at Bãren. Extremely helpful staff, clean room and bath, and good location. There was no traffic noise at night. We appreciated the coffee and sparking water service in the lobby. All in all, an excellent value. It rained a bit when we were there. We found we could walk to the railway station without getting wet! A definite plus. When we needed an umbrella for our walkabout, the staff were happy to supply now.

We loved the great location! We walked to most attractions within 10 minutes. The several times a week markets is right around corner. It has washing and drying machines for people to use for free. It is very quiet at night and safe! Breakfast is very good with dishes carefully selected and prepared. Hotel provides free coffee and tea and great taste ice water all day. We will return to this hotel again and highly recommend this hotel. Bern is full of history and culture—from the Middle Ages to Einstein and beyond! Well worth visiting!
