I booked and paid a higher rate for a room with a city view. I was given a 1st floor room on the city side but couldn’t see the city given the low floor. When I went to the front desk to ask that my rate be changed to a non city view rate I was firmly told that was not possible because I was on the city side. I explained that they advertised a “view” not a “side” but they stood firm that the “view” rate applies. They offered to move me to a higher floor but not until the next day as the hotel was full. I did move the next day having to unpack, repack, and then unpack again when I got to the new room. My dissatisfaction is that I should have been given the option to stay in the 1st floor room for a non-view rate, or move the next day with a credit for the first day with no view. Also, it is misleading and false advertising to designate lower floor rooms on the city side as “ city view”. If you’re changing a higher rate for a “city view” they should exclude those lower floors on the city side that don’t actually have a view.

This was the 2nd time we have stayed here. Great hotel, staff and service.1st time, a few years ago when we were stranded for 72 hours because of severe winter weather.This time, in September, much better ! Easy walk from the Zoologische Garten station if you are coming from the airport on the S9. Inexpensive more frequent services and less prone than the intercity to cancellation Location of hotel for dancing at the "Metropol" is excllenent- 10 mins walk. Good restaurants nearby. We can recommend the SchnitzelHaus nearby- be warned to portions are HUGE... we look forward to our next visit !!
