The hotel is very basic. The rooms are ok but the beds are great. The breakfast was very complete. The down side: we went during summer and it has not A/C (just a very small table fan over the desk), so it was very hot and difficult to sleep at night. The area is walkable and looks safe but everything closes early and the hotel does not have a restaurant (we have to order delivery upon arrival at 9.30 pm). The good part: it has a metro station literally across the street

Very good budget option with free breakfast

Great Ibis Styles Hotel, directly opposite the eastern entrance of Deutsche Oper underground station. Rooms have recently been refurbished and are of a good 3-star standard. Rooms at the back are naturally quieter. Good breakfast is included with a nice selection.

Nice friendly hotel, good size room, bathroom on the small size but adequate. Room clean apart from bed head which was unbelievably dusty. Reasonable breakfast selection. Can hear the Uban rumbling. Good for visiting Charlottenberg with good train and bus connections and within easy walk of Palace, zoo and Tiergarten.

Best Place in Town

This is the nicest, warmest, friendliest hotel imaginable. I've stayed there for many years, I won't stay anywhere else in Berlin, a city I love and know well. Convenient, more than reasonable, comfortable, not a bad thing to say about it.

Very relaxing and convenient location

Arrival via underground (Opera station) could not have been simpler with exit to within feet of hotel. Hotel reception was always attended throughout our stay and staff happy to help source info if not already available in lobby. Staff happy to speak good English and our limited German phrases were welcomed. Very good breakfast available 0630 to 1030. It was never busy so we felt relaxed. Room was comfortable with refreshments available at reasonable prices. Impression this was a suburban area with local restaurants (turkish/italian/chinese) and good bakery, Wulfe, popular with locals. We did not visit local Opera house but travelled on train to city attractions. Daily ticket (zone AB) was circa £5. We also walked the 3 miles via Teirgarden park taking in several landmarks entering the city at Brandenburg gate. Beware of cycle lanes when waiting to cross roads.

Cheap, budget, clean Hotel

Staff were friendly and helpful. The Hotel was clean. U Bahn station 2 minutes away. Breakfast was adequate, not very impressed. Twin beds were adequate. Towels were tiny and they didn't have bigger ones.

Had an ok experience

We stayed for 4 nights during December and did not like the bed as it did not feel comfortable and the shower head was really bad, it takes some time to adjust hot and cold water and the overall shower experience after a long day is not pleasant. The food was overall ok, their croissants were really good and there was free coffee and tea always which is good. The local area has shops nearby and the metro is few steps away so transportation was not a big issue. Overall, would love them to improve their shower and bed

Convenient and clean hotel with basic service

For a 2-night trip to see two operas at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, this hotel was just fine. Small room, small bathroom, but adequate for one person. My friend on the 6th floor had problem receiving wifi signal. The lobby is very inadequate, only two chairs by the elevator and front door, more like a passage way. Staff members (front desk, cleaning crew, and breakfast server) were very helpful and friendly.

Great Hotel at a very good price.

Great hotel to stay. It's a bit far from city center but it has a metro station (Deutch Oper) just less than a minute walk from the hotel. The metro line it's U2 which is maybe the best line because it takes you to the most important stops.
