The toilet is separated from the room. Although it’s technically classed as a private bathroom you have to unlock a side door, walk through an open hallway - with a water boiler and fire exit on the left - and then unlock the bathroom door. It’s ok for me but for some people, this wouldn’t feel private.
Very, Very disappointed,
We was driving from Norway and we book this hotel because Hotel.com advertise this hotel as a 4 star hotel, with a free breakfast and a free parking but this is just a catch.
This Hotel is not a 4 star Hotel, this hotel is more like a Hostel, it has a cheap, very limited continental breakfast and fore sure a free parking where ever you find where it’s allowed on the streets around the Hotel.
Please don’t believe Hotels.com and accept all the hotels that they advertise like a Good Hotel and please if you want a Good Hotel in Berlin, stay away from this Hotel please.
We were pleasantly surprised of the nice facility at the Arktur Hotel. There are two buildings and we stayed in the #2 building which was further away from the busy Otto-Suhr-Allee main street. The small distance made the room seem very quite. Our room was immaculate - clean and well organized! The Breakfast offerings were minimalist but satisfactory. The location of the hotel was excellent for our travel preferences. A bus stop is directly in front of the hotel and the U-Bahn station is less than a 6 min. walk. Our biggest complaint is the shower stall. The water pressure was ecellent as well as the temperature of the water, but the position of the on-off handle can cause severe safety concerns! The shower curtain would blow in and attach itself to your body and when you turned around in the shower to adjust the curtain your backside would hit the water facet and move the handle to a hotter water temperature. You could possibly get scalded by the very hot water. Also the shower basin is rimmed with a 4cm high lip that could be a tripping/foot injury problem! Overall, we'll definitely consider the Arktur Hotel for our next trip to Berlin!
It is hard to believe that Hotel Arktur city is a 3 star hotel, even it's not at the level of a 2 star hotel. Hotel has a very old structure that has a little bit renovation in their bathrooms. The rest is old, very old. From the elevators to the light fixtures or the radiator that can not make the room warmer.
For the first night, I couldn't sleep because my room was extremly cold in the month of Febraurary. The front desk employees are not fluent in speaking English. The Hotel Lobby and breakfast room are in the seperate building but next to the main building. Hotel has 2 elevators. The first one take you up to the first floor and in the first floor, you need to change the elevator to go to the top floors. The heating system is very old and can not make the rooms warm in winter time and it seems they have the same problem with their cooling system on the summer. No room has a thermostat for the guests to set up the temreture. The breakfast is basic and doesn't have a good quality. The only positive thing with this hotel is the location which is close to the Metro Station and in front of the bus stop.
Great hotel with friendly staff, night staff even gave up her cup of tea so we could have one when we got back in. Only bad bit was no kettle in room. Breakfast was nice continental, missed full English but we were in Germany! Beds were comfy, room clean and well looked after, hotel in general great, highly recommend

Liked: Staff & service, room comfort
Disliked: Cleanliness
The hotel is conveniently located near bus and train stops. Grocery store and a Rossmann (drugstore) next door. Check-in was simple and quick. Breakfast was nothing fancy but a good offering. This is a good hotel if you're looking for something budget friendly with no special frills. While our room was clean one of the trash cans missed being emptied (it still had trash and a baby diaper in it from the room's previous occupants). This was probably an oversight as all other trash cans had been emptied. I would stay here again for the affordability and convenience.
I usually do not make bad reviews unless something is extraordinarily wrong. The hotels.com site offered a nice hotel with English speaking front desk personnel, air conditioned rooms, WiFi. The front desk barely spoke any English which would be difficult for the normal American traveler. I am fortunate enough to be able to speak some German so it wasn’t impossible to communicate. When my family and I went to the room there was no ac. I went to the front desk to ask about it the lady was nasty about it and just said “no ac”. I tried to show her the conformation which seemed to anger her more. The house keepers made the bed the next day but that was about it. The did not replace towels or otherwise clean the room. At check out the same front desk person said that I owed more because of city taxes. Again I showed her the and she said that wasn’t included (taxes added on hotels.com). The WiFi was weak and kept dropping the signal. Another issue with the hotel is the location. The street noise and frequent police and fire sirens are constant both day and night. With no ac your only choice in the summer is to have the window wide open. This is not a family friendly hotel or a place to relax at all. Generally I am a low maintenance guest but what I paid for and what I got were very different.
The hotel is simple and clean. There are no facilities to talk about. If you want a hairdryer or iron you can request one. The hotel is on a main road so it is very noisy.
