We stayed at Magic Hotel in Bergen and overall had a very good experience. The location is excellent — right by the harbour and the shopping district, and only about a 12-minute walk to Bergen train station, which was perfect for us when we did the Norway in a Nutshell tour.
Our room was up on the top floor ("in the gods," as it felt!). It was comfortable and fine for our stay, though I had requested a view and unfortunately didn’t get one. Tea and coffee weren’t provided in the room, but facilities were available at reception, which was a useful alternative.
One small concern was around the fire evacuation procedures. A fire alarm did go off during our stay, and while it turned out not to be serious, the communication about what was happening could have been clearer.
That said, the hotel suited our needs very well, and with its convenient location, I’d recommend it to others visiting Bergen.
