A wonderful place for families looking for a free breakfast and indoor pool. Cabin furnishings could always be updated but it provides a nice rustic feel. We have stayed here many times and it’s our go to place in Bemidji.

We got upgraded to the newly renovated rooms in the main lodge. The room was spacious and clean. The view from our room 305 was excellent. Food in the restaurant were delicious. You should try their creamy chicken wild rice, the best in the area. Staff were great and helpful.

I loved staying here; the staff and everyone were very nice and friendly. The lodge is in a great location. Has a nice-sized gym and pool. The rooms are very cozy, clean, and modern. The food is great. The Cove was a lot of fun and gave a great opportunity to meet some locals. I will stay again often.

The resort is old and needs repair. Our room smelled musty moldy… the furniture was ripped the deck paint was peeling, there were cigarette butts outside, the screen on the patio door had rips in it. The main lodge seamed nice. We didn’t end up staying . I have allergies and was afraid a migraine was in my future. They charged us $50 for cancellation.

The room was in need of updating. The furniture especially outside was scary to even sit in. Very worn and dirty. Sliding door outside was so dirty, screen fell off the runner. We love staying at Ruttgers but this room was disappointing to say the least. Nice location but….
