The hotel's communal spaces and lobby offer expansive areas for guests to comfortably relax and move about. While some decorative elements show signs of age, the overall architectural design by the renowned firm is quite admirable. Their vision has created a distinctive aesthetic and layout. We had intended to visit the ginkgo trees in a nearby garden. However, we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful courtyards within the hotel containing lovely landscaping. The scenic views provided a wonderful surprise. The indoor and outdoor greenery incorporated throughout the property helps connect guests to nature, which travelers often appreciate. At the same time, some refurbishments could further enhance the guest experience. The dated rooms and occasional odor issues understandably detract from full enjoyment. Updated accommodations maintained to a higher standard would likely better satisfy most guests.
