Escape to The Brown Bear Lodge, a family-friendly mountain retreat nestled beside a peaceful creek and surrounded by nature. Enjoy multiple outdoor spaces perfect for relaxing and making memories — including a fire pit by the creek, a hot tub under the stars, and spacious porches with scenic views. Whether you're hiking nearby trails, enjoying quality family time outdoors, or simply unwinding to the sound of the water, Brown Bear Lodge is the perfect place to relax and reconnect.
Brown Bear Lodge sits on 30 private acres that back directly up to the National Forest, offering plenty of space to relax, explore, and enjoy the outdoors. Guests are welcome to wander the property, take in the peaceful mountain scenery, and experience the beauty of nature right outside the front door.
Overstreet Creek is a native trout stream in a fairly remote and heavily wooded area. The creek attracts an abundance of critters, pests, and dangerous wildlife so please be careful - this is their home too. Our property has rocky, uneven terrain and our landscaping is a work in progress.
Feel free to dip your feet in or cast a line at your own risk!
Cellular service is very limited in this area. US Cellular has very weak signal and no other carriers are available. Make sure to note the Wi-Fi SSID and password ahead of your trip. Wi-Fi calling works very well but may need to be enabled in the settings of your device.

Tranquil property that is set away from other cabins. Butterflies and hummingbirds feast on the rose of sharon and butterfly bushes. The sound of the babbling creek was soothing after a day of strenuous hiking. We appreciate clean properties, and this one fit the bill. Immaculate, well stocked kitchen. When we return, we plan to buy up a loaf of sourdough from the farm stand at the turn to the gravel road.
