My first short-term rental (1 month) was stressful due to communication and maintenance issues during the first ten days. I had to complain often, but received no compensation. Cons: -Balcony shutter arm broke (previously taped), causing safety concerns for days as emergency access. Host provided no solution for four days. bathrooms had plumbing and sewage smell issues, causing headaches and nausea one day. -Rusty, scratched Teflon pots/pans were unusable. -Dirty bedsheets, rusty drying rack. -Main bathroom sink faucet broke. -Dirty dishes required cleaning before use. -Host's non-English speaking maintenance worker and my limited Lebanese created communication issues. -Scheduled appointments were missed/canceled, initially blamed on me, but later apologized for after proof. -Filthy, rusty microwave provided after two weeks. -Peeling kitchen wall paint near heating elements. -Noisy beds. -Maintenance asked me to fix things. -Leaking shower doors. -Host unresponsive on holidays for plumbing issues. -No bottle opener for complimentary drinks. -Loose fixtures. Pros: -Great location, walkable to everything. -Big parking lot. -Elevator.
