Where the just passing through becomes the destination.

All photos are taken on the property—no filters needed!

This elevated mountaintop retreat sits at 2,543 feet above sea level, perched atop our 66-acre property in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains. Rustic, serene, and completely surrounded by nature, the guest house offers sweeping 360-degree views with sunrises that will stop you mid-sip of your morning coffee and sunsets that make you forget what time it is.

The guest house is a spacious 1,200-square-foot layout featuring two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a fully equipped kitchen — everything you need to settle in and feel at home. There are two queen beds (one in each bedroom), a twin-sized day bed in the living room, and what we confidently call the most comfortable couch on the planet — perfect for kids and teenagers. The space comfortably accommodates up to six guests, whether you are here as a family, a couple, or a small group looking to unplug.

Inside, you will find an electric fireplace, a TV, Wi-Fi, and a kitchen set up for real cooking — not just reheating. Outside, step onto the wraparound porch with plenty of seating, a hammock, and views in every direction. In the evening, fire up the grill or build a fire in the fire pit and watch the sun drop behind the mountains. In the morning, grab your coffee and sit on the front porch for the kind of sunrise most people only see in photographs.

The guest house has its own private entrance and is separated from the main house, giving you the space and quiet you came here for. That said, we live right next door — so if you need anything, you can reach us by phone, text, or email, and we will be there.

We Are Unapologetically a Working Farm

We want your stay to be everything you hope for—and that starts with knowing exactly what to expect before you book.

✦ Animal Encounters
You will see, hear, and occasionally smell farm animals—they’re part of both our daily life and your experience here. From our four friendly dogs (always eager to help kids burn off road-trip energy), to our donkeys who are convinced they’re the true hosts, to cows that may take their time crossing the driveway, plus goats and pigs hard at work clearing the land—you’ll be fully immersed in farm life.

✦ Mountain Terrain
We’re located on a mountaintop in Virginia. The gravel driveway is long, steep, and narrow in places. Take it slow - the views at the top are absolutely worth it, I promise.

✦ Nature Comes First
This isn’t a polished, predictable hotel stay. It’s a real, working farm where nature sets the tone. You may encounter mud, insects, uneven ground, and the rhythms of rural life right outside your door.

If you’re excited by fresh air, wide-open views, and an authentic farm experience, Pride's Mountain is the place for you!
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned vacation home, which features a fireplace and a Smart TV. There's a private patio. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Complimentary wireless internet access is available to keep you connected.
Enjoy recreation amenities such as a hot tub or take in the view from a garden.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

Our trip was wonderful, but staying at CJ and Mitch’s beautiful property made it truly unforgettable. The cabin is absolutely gorgeous, and the mountain views from the back porch are breathtaking. My dad especially loved spending time with their sweet dogs and donkeys—it became one of the highlights of our trip. We spent so much time relaxing on the porch, soaking in the peaceful scenery, and it honestly couldn’t have been any better. My dad has Alzheimer’s, and seeing him smile, laugh, and enjoy interacting with the animals was something I’ll always treasure. The peaceful setting gave us the opportunity to slow down, make memories together, and simply enjoy each moment. That is a gift I can never thank you enough for.CJ has truly thought of everything. Every comfort you could possibly need is provided, and the cabin is exceptionally clean, welcoming, and well-equipped. You can tell they genuinely care about making their guests feel at home.If you’re looking for a peaceful mountain getaway with incredible hosts, beautiful views, and thoughtful touches throughout, this is the perfect place. We left with wonderful memories that we’ll cherish forever, and we would absolutely love to return. Thank you, CJ and Mitch, for making our trip so incredibly special!

Words cannot describe our experience and stay at Pride’s Mountain! The property is stunningly beautiful. CJ and Mitch were the best host and accommodated us beyond my expectations. The guest house is private, clean, and the craftsmanship of the home was admired. The furnishing was cozy and perfect! The whole vibe was amazing. We even got to experience petting the donkeys, playing with the dogs, and feeding the farm animals! CJ and Mitch welcomed us like we were a part of their family! We also got to spend time with one of their friends who added to the fun of our stay! We will definitely be returning! Thanks, CJ and Mitch for a great time :)
