The house met our needs very well. It was vomfortable and quiet and the location was greay. Close enough to Acadia, Bar Harbor and SouthWest Harbor but also "away" from all the bustle and crowds in Bar Harbor.

Overall good time
We did a family trip to Acadia. The location and layout was good for us as a family with kids in tow. The kitchen was a little short on things such as baking sheets and pans. The propane was low and ran out the first time we used the grill. The hot water runs out if you don't pace out your showers. Other than that, the house was good.

Great location, would've liked it to be cleaner
Great house in a great location. The host left laundry mid cycle and the kitchen was pretty gross and not cleaned. A little elbow grease to clean microwave (hadn't been cleaned in a while), counter-tops, coffee pot, stove and dirty dishes and we had a great stay. The kitchen is lacking some basic needs (only one medium saute pan) and no baking or cookie sheets of any kind. Though there were definitely plenty of lobster cooking pots and butter dishes. We overlooked the dust on furniture but worth a mention if you have allergies.
The master bedroom is a loft overlooking the living room with no door for privacy.
This was a wonderful place for our family to spend a few days in Acadia. The kitchen/common space area is especially lovely, and having the pack & play set up when we arrived was a welcome touch traveling with an infant.
The only real complaint is a tough one to say how much it was a problem anyone would face: when we arrived (late, at least for a family with young kids), the owners' cleaner had obviously left them hanging. None of the beds were made, there was a pile in the laundry room, and the bathrooms were dirty. We were able to find enough to get beds made and the owners came down the next day (they had offered to come that night, but we had kids that needed to sleep) and got most things together. There was still a decent amount of dog hair around after that, not sure if that's an artifact of the previous residents, the nature of the cleaning, or a more permanent fixture.
