Perfect! Basel is absolutely perfect for a weekend trip. The hotel was positioned just over the road from the main train station, bus from the airport arrives and departs in the same area. Basel card is included with stay so public transport is free! Also easily walkable to main areas. Checkin easy. We used the adjoining hotel reception as we had a late flight but this was no issue and there’s an option to check in electronically. Luggage store room. Room basic but clean and had everything we needed.

We received free Zurich cards when we checked in which was a huge bonus. The front desk staff was nice. Location was great. The only complaint we had was that it was SO HOT in the room. They had over-compensated for the temperature outside. Even the floor was hot in some spots to walk on barefoot.

Hotel Metropol was perfect for our quick stay in Basel. It is located steps from the train station. The staff is helpful. When we arrived before check in to ask if we could store our luggage while sightseeing, they said our rooms were ready and allowed us to check in early. How nice! We were able to walk all over the city from our hotel. We enjoyed our one-night stay here. We were not able to have breakfast at the hotel as we had an early departure the next morning. We would recommend staying here.

Couldn’t do the online check in. So had to go to the main hotel desk. 3 hotels all linked. The room near the stairwell is noisy in the evening. The location is great for transport . Easy walk to airport bus, trams and main train station Nice breakfast with a view. Easy walk to old town and river. Staff are lovely
