Great little place in Bari Vecchia

This place has an unbeatable location. We were able to choose our room, the AC worked great, and the owner was easy to reach.

Sehr schönes historisches Haus im Zentrum

Diese kleine Pension ist ein sehr schön hergerichtetes historisches Haus mitten in der Altstadt von Bari, gleich neben dem Castello Svevo. Es wurde Wert auf Details wie Steckdosen neben dem Bett, bequeme Matratzen und eine traumhafte Mosaikdusche im Badezimmer gelegt. Unser Zimmer war tadellos sauber und der Empfang nett, obwohl wir erst spät Abends ankamen. Einziges Manko: das Zimmer ist recht hellhörig, also Ohrstöpsel nicht vergessen. Die Treppe ist eng und steil, also Vorsicht bei grossem/schwerem Gepäck.

Fue sencillo hacer la reservación.

El hotel esta ubicado en la zona antigua de Bari facilitando la visita de la misma que es muy hermosa, pero es pequeño, nos hospedamos en el tercer piso y no cuenta con elevador.

A scam.

Up on arrival, no one at the locked door but a phone number. A woman arrived to explain the reserved room was undergoing emergency repairs but another room was waiting nearby. I was then shown a windowless space, partitioned off the entrance hall of a building, with stale, hot air stirred by a ceiling fan, a bed on a raised platform near the ceiling to make room for a bathroom below, a neon light, no AC or ventilation of any kind. I said this was not fit for human habitation and demande a refund of my prepaid €65 fee. The woman said my card had not yet been debited, which was untrue. I then had to spend two hours to find another room near the airport and obtain a refund and an apology from Hotels.com. My granddaughters who were flying out that evening nearly missed their flight because of the delay in finding new accommodation. This seemed to be a deliberate scam to me, using the picture of a very nice but unavailable room to switch an unsuspecting traveler to an unhealthy prison cell. It should be investigated further.
