We didn't get to stay in one of the cottages and stayed in the motel. The only real drawback was I had to go to the office to get a cup of coffee in the morning. Oh yes, the shower was tiny. Other than that, it was fine.

The cottage did NOT have a coffeemaker and the kitchenette consisted of a dorm fridge with a microwave on top of it in a cutout next to the closet. But the cottage was clean and the shower has great water pressure. Location is convenient to Acadia national park and other towns to visit. We went to Walmart and purchased a coffee maker!

Reason I won't give them a higher rating is lack of amenities. Property was very clean and well maintained. But they can definitely provide for better toiletries, a coffee machine, paper napkins etc.! Also, my major complain is on WIFI. Since the property is outside Bar harbor, reception (AT&T and T-mobile) was really bad. And, WIFI was almost non-existent. It was extremely frustrating for my husband who wanted to work and for my son who wanted to watch some Netflix.

The owners were very sweet and attentive. They allowed us to stay an extra hour past their normal check out time. I would definitely stay there again. The only downfall is that the property sits beside a main road with a lot of traffic.

A great one night stay

Room was cozy and clean, decorated so cutely, and perfect for a one-night stay. It is close to Acadia, and a little farther from downtown bar harbor, which was a plus for us. Very quiet an quaint.

Sunnyside was cute and exactly what we needed for a couple night stay while visiting Acadia National Park. The staff were very kind and welcoming, the room was as described, and the exterior is adorable. We just docked it a bit because the walls are thin - we could easily hear our neighbors and their TV through the walls. Thankfully, we were usually too tired for these things to bother us, but if you're a light sleeper or easily disturbed this is something to consider. Also, our heater when we turned it on smelled - it likely hadn't been turned on yet for the season, but we turned it off because it smelled so strongly and then were very cold at night. Overall, if you're on a budget and just looking for a place to stay, would recommend.

If your main intent is to visit the Acadia National Park, the property is actually closer to the park entrance proper (and avoids the "zoo" of Bar Harbor during the height of the tourist season).

We had a fantastic stay at the Sunnyside Motel & Cottages! The manager is so sweet and helpful and very accommodating with our late arrival due to travel delays. We had a room, not a cottage. It was very clean and comfortable. The only thing I would mention is that there is a refrigerator, but no microwave or coffee maker. Overall, for the price, I would definitley stay here again.
