Ledgelawn Cottage, an eleven room nineteenth century home on Bar Harbor's historic Ledgelawn Avenue, is steps from all the attractions of downtown and a few minutes from Acadia National Park. Stroll to the village green, restaurants, shops, theaters, museum, Shore Path, free Island Explorer bus, tennis courts, skateboard park, playground, and Sunday farmer's market. Acadia Park entrances are a few minutes' drive away. Ledgelawn Cottage provides comfortable inviting spaces for gathering with family and friends. The home opens with a spacious sunroom, the perfect spot to relax over morning coffee and begin the day. From there, the first floor offers five spacious rooms, including a beautiful new family room currently being prepared for 2026, with gas fireplace, large TV, and a queen-size pullout couch that provides a private first floor bedroom. There is a large well-stocked kitchen for preparing family meals, a sun-filled dining room providing puzzles and board games to play around the big dining table that seats eight to ten guests, a reading room with books for adults and children, and local maps and guidebooks, and a large living room with television and lots of comfortable seating. The first floor also includes a laundry, half bath, and separate shower room with large walk-in shower.
The second floor includes an office with two desks, a full bath with shower tub, and four bedrooms. The master bedroom has a king-sized bed. There is a bedroom with a queen-sized bed, a room with a double brass four-poster, and a room with two twin beds. A wooden toddler bed and a pack-and-play are also provided.
Outdoors, there are a gas grill, lawn seating, and picnic tables. The driveway holds up to three cars.
Ledgelawn Cottage is a non-smoking, no pet vacation home. Dogs cannot be considered under any circumstances, regardless of breed, due to severe family allergies. We welcome up to ten staying guests (including children and babies), with a maximum of fourteen people on the property at any time.
