The room was amazing! Very clean and spacious. The layout was very different with a bar and a sofa. These were in addition to the standard table, chairs and bench to put your luggage on. All-in-all a very good choice. It was also VERY QUIET. It was nice to be able to relax and not hear every noise coming from outside. I highly recommend staying here.

We did not receive the room we had booked. We had booked a king bed and had a confirmation for that but were told at desk when we arrived that we had booked two queens. Even when i showed them the confirmation email, we were told that it was wrong that their records showed something different and they did not have a king available for the length of our stay. We could have it for thursday night but someone else booked it for friday and saturday. Of course we were not interested in moving after one night.They told us we should take it up with Expedia. Although the room was surface clean, it needs a serious deep cleaning. We stayed 3 nights and our room was never serviced during our stay. we had to ask for clean towels twice. We were unable to turn the AC on and had to get a manager in Upon arrival. The TV remote was missing and We again had to call for help. The ice machine did not work at all during our stay. We were not at all pleased with the stay at the River Oak and will not stay there again nor recommend it to anyone.

Room was in need of some upkeep. Some holes in the wall. Roaches in the bathroom. Hairdryer was covered in a sticky substance. At checkout, I had wanted to express my concerns to rhe front desk, but no one was there. Just a sign to drop off my key. Definitely not the worst hotel experience we've ever had, but we're not intrrested in staying there again.

Customer service is nonexistent. We were arriving later than we were expecting originally so I called to verify my room was still going to be available. Called four times over an hour and no answer. I finally got someone to answer on the fifth call. When I got there, the lady was just rude. As if I need to check in was an inconvenience to her. We arrived at 7:30 PM so it shouldn’t have been an inconvenience. Additionally, there was mold on the wall above the shower, water damage to the walls and broken handrail in the bathtub with a sharp edge. Messy putty job to fill the hole where the pole came out. The next morning when I went to check out, the office is locked still at 8:30 in the morning. Try to reach the front desk by phone and they don’t answer so when I had to ring the bell several times she told me I needed to be patient. Patient was long gone waiting for their service.

River oaks hotel bandera.

You can tell this is an older hotel but my room was clean and well maintained. My room didn't smell like smoke so that was great.

Nice town to stay in

It was OK, bed was nice, huge TV, good hot water pressure, clean, easy check in/out. Lovely receptionist...there were some repairs less than stellar however. There was toilet paper filling a hole in the baseboard in the RR, as well as the chewed up doorstop in the RR and there was pealing paint on the RR door.
