Room was surprisingly up to par with us. Very suprised due to the old bldg. But inside is remodeled and had a full kitchen. Which is nice if you don't want to spend a lot at the restaurants. But water pressure was good and heated water was also perfect. Only downfall was the thin walls. Could hear everything the room next to us was doing. Also the train track across woke us up a couple times when it came by. They lay on those horns.

I love the proximity to lava and the ability to cook in the room. You may just want to run a hair snake down the shower drain. I love this place and I’m already planning my next trip there.

A little out of the way but worth it for the price

The motel is very well decorated and clean inside. Outside is clean, but plain. It’s next to the railroad tracks so the train horn woke me up a few times, but my adult grandson slept through it. I’ll stay at Caribou Gem again if I’m in the area
