All-time worst experience

Upon arrival at 10pm after a long hot day’s drive, the check-in instructions were sent, key code worked, but there is an entire family and several days of their trash in our private booking. The property manager responded with “Looks like we double booked the stay with the other competitor hosting site. Have a good night. We have no where to go and no recourse. If we’d been cancelled on sooner we could have sought other solutions. They had all day to tell us/figure this out and it left us 3 friends in a very tight stressful situation where we no longer had a place big enough for all of us and our party had to be split up for the remainder of our trip. These hosts should not be allowed to run listings.
