A few surprises

Beautiful island!
Kitchen & LR makeovers were nicely done
Rafael A of Intracoastal Realty was very friendly, courteous and timely in his follow-up
Challenges:
Booking and payment processes - exceedingly inflexible.
The rental listing suggests a ‘full view’ of the ocean from the porch off of the living room and the posted photos would lead you to believe that the lot across the street is vacant…these are completely misleading. A large house is under construction across the street—which blocks 3/4 of the promised view. Furthermore, we were treated to several days worth of construction activity—including a backhoe and dump truck which kept our driveway blocked intermittently for two days. The resultant noise—coupled with the obstructed view—prevented us from enjoying the deck to any appreciable degree.
Kitchen lacked several basic accessories
No grill or hairdryers
Leak in MBR—directly over the foot of the bed
Spiders and palmetto bugs inside the home
‘Unfinished’ items—e.g., handles missing from cabinets, moulding/cabinetry un-painted, missing light bulbs, etc.
Upstairs HVAC struggled to ‘keep up’ during the day
With a check-in time of 5:30 pm and check-out time of 10:30 am, we were basically deprived of nearly one full day—which was unfortunate
At a cost of nearly $2,000/day, we expected more. While we will definitely visit BHI again, we will choose to stay elsewhere.
