Bala is a beautiful place to be, lots of shops, pubs, restaurants and places to walk. The lake is obviously a delight and the steam railway ride is fabulous. I'd definately stay here again, especially because of the fantastic hospitality I got at the White Lion. I couldn't have asked for more. Thankyou!

This is a nice hotel but I would advise booking a room on the second floor as none of the rooms have carpets so I didn't get a lot of sleep due to the people upstairs repeatedly getting up and walking about at all hours followed by the draymans delivery early in the morning which was right below my room. Its a perfectly good stay and very well situated in Bala,.... just make sure you book a second floor room.

Room was nice and clean, though the bathroom especially was a bit tired. Parking in the pub is very limited and was often full, though on-street seemed fairly readily available. Breakfast bacon roll is best avoided.

Perfect for what we wanted, although there were a lot of steps up to our room on the top floor! Large clean room with comfortable beds. The window would have benefited from a good clean though. Lovely staff, decent breakfast and great sunny beer garden which was handy.

Bottom line, all things being equal would I stay again? Yes. Relatively cheap and cheerful albeit quite a "tired" accommodation. Functional but no thrills. Based on a typical small town high street with a range of shops and beautiful countryside surrounds.
