Villa in Aria is set on the hills in front of the Apuan/Appenine mountains in Lunigiana in the Northern tip of Tuscany. Access is via a private road and the property is set in 3 hectares of land providing complete privacy. The land beyond is predominantly woodland. The house was built 15 years ago using traditional methods. The roofs are constructed using chestnut beams. The floors downstairs are stone which helps keep the house cooler (the house is also insulated) and upstairs are solid oak. All the doors, shutters and staircase are hand-made. The pool is 15m x 6m. The automatic top can be closed in the evenings to retain the water temperature overnight. The depth is c.1.10m in the shallow end and c.2m in the deep end with a diving board. In addition to the terraced area surrounding the pool there is in total 200+ sq.m surrounding the house, ideal for relaxing and dining. The house has a fast speed internet connection via a fixed cable or wireless.
The table tennis table and table football ensure that there's something to do in between relaxing and relaxing!
Days out can be spent walking, in the mountains, visiting festas or trips to the coast including Lerici, Forte dei Marmi and Viareggio. For day trips to the Cinque Terre we recommend the train from Villafranca which goes direct. A fantastic day trip is the 9.14 a.m. direct to Monterosso, a walk around the town, lunch at one of the many restaurants or our friends restaurant on the cliff tops then take the boat back to La Spezia. An aperitivo in the town then the train back to Villafranca/Bagnone.
