Who can deny it? You've picked the right location (oceanfront) and the right house, Poetry in Motion. Now all you have to do is relax. There is something about the connection to nature that is both exhilarating and relaxing. Poetry in Motion is within walking distance from the community outdoor pool, tennis court, fishing pier, and beach.

The house features two decks to enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail. Allow the smell of the ocean and the taste of the salt to hypnotize you. The kitchen features granite countertops and stainless steel appliances throughout. Peruse a collection of books, games, and puzzles, or play a friendly game of foosball or basketball. Enjoy the two main suites with private baths. Kid-friendly extras include a high chair and bassinet. Other amenities include beautiful mahogany flooring, free WiFi, a 42-inch TV, foosball, basketball goal, grill, and outdoor shower. The house was exactly what we were looking for. However, be prepared, there is nothing in the way of food or condiments (not even salt or pepper). So it's like staying in a hotel - you get the shampoo, conditioner and body wash. There was only one beach chair, and no beach towels. Vacasa gives you one pod for the washer and 2 dishwasher pods; which you need to use one of them when you leave. So. With all that said, we LOVED the house, the location to the beach was amazing and the beds were so comfortable. To me, those were the most important aspects of our vacation.

Location is fabulous. The house is great. There were boogie boards there for us to use as well as lots of games. Tips for staying here:Bring cleaning supplies for the kitchen, dish towels, paper towels, toilet paper, trash bags, extra blankets for beds. There’s an awesome playground one block over in front of the Avon Pier. The pier costs 2 a person and it gives you access all day. We saw a black tip shark right off the pier!Food Lion is a mile away as well as various shops for beach gear and souvenirs. Surfs Up Seafood market had better prices than Food Lion for crabs and shrimp, and the seafood was delicious. In Buxton, 10 min away, there’s a used book store, an escape room, and go karts. Angelos pizza is also nice. The fishing was great. We did a charter out of Hatteras one day, and it was great and only 30 min away. We had a wonderful stay! We’d love to come back!

Gorgeous views nice layout but has maintenance issues

This is a nice location, next to the fishing pier. Lots of surfers to watch and close to grocery and good restaurants. Good layout and amazing views from most rooms. Steps from the beach, and if that’s not why you’re in OBX, pick a nicer house off the beach. The problem we had is that we walked in to see a stained box spring, broken dryer, slider in BR not functioning, door screen and closet door leaned against the wall. I thought the cleaning was decent but MIL had an inch of dust on her ceiling fan and couldn’t use it. Local management office is nearby and the receptionist was professional and helpful and let us pickup clean towels every day (since the dryer was never fixed, parts were ordered, same for the closet door, screen and slider). The box spring was cleaned and the ice maker was fixed (apparently someone had disconnected the water). I spent hours texting with remote management company and they were professional and polite but never got back to me or seemed to know what the local team was doing to remedy our issues. We paid $7,600 and requested a partial refund since the property was not in the shape it should be for that price point and we had to spend the week dealing with the issues and had the inconvenience of 10 people who packed for 5 days planning to have a washer and dryer not able to do laundry all week. Still waiting for a response. I would still stay again at lower rate, views are amazing and beach was great.

Beautiful ocean view! Overall beautiful home!

The home is overall beautiful but does need some TLC. There are areas in the kitchen, especially by the main sink, where the paint is peeling badly. Dining room furniture could use an update…strip table and repaint…either new chairs or reupholster, they are badly stained. The two showers we utilized also need their shower heads replaced. I recommend more attention to cleaning bathroom hardware, otherwise very clean! Maybe condense the storage of kitchen ware to allow cabinet space to store food…there’s no pantry. There was a lot of trash on the outside of the property, especially the rear!!! Our family enjoyed the stay very much, highly considering staying at this home again!!! Beautiful ocean views!!!

overall the property is nice but oceanfront air is brutal to housing. so it has the normal oceanfront wear no screens in the windows. very well stocked with pots and pans beds are nice the location makes up for all short falls

great beach house!

great house, right on the beach, lovely views, breathtaking sunrises. this house was perfect for a relaxing family beach vacation. The pictures are an accurate depiction. The house is on 3 levels, so this is not a god choice for those with mobility issues. plenty of parking. large outdoor shower that had better pressure than the master bath. If you love to cook bring a good knife and cutting board, and kitchen towels. There is a great seafood market right down street and many nights we bought seafood and cooked in. The beach and ocean were clean and gorgeous. Nice and quiet also, but this may change as the season continues. My only critique is that the house cleaning services could be improved. All in all we loved our trip to OBX!

Beautiful home, in a great location

We didn't have near enough towels and we stayed two weeks, so we had to do a lot of laundry. Only one setof sheets for two weeks as well. The frig leaked, the washer broke and ran water all over the floor, and the oven wouldn't even brown pizza crust. Alsothe left front burner only works on high. House keeper needs to clean under the beds !

Not what we expected, not entirely as pictured

The home itself is nice, great location BUT very dated and could use some updates. Not entirely as nice as in the pictures. The beds were very uncomfortable and overall the house was very dirty!!! We spent half the afternoon once we got there cleaning. The mattress pad in one room was torn to shreds, one bed did'nt even have it and the other pad and blanket was very soiled in something??? Called housekeeping and they did replace and supply mattress pads, should have spotted it when they cleaned! Upstairs toilet ran constantly which was awful for the person sleeping in the room below it since it sounded like a waterfall. There was hair and sand in the tub in one room. Common bathroom shower head leaked constantly. Fixtures were dated and rusted, kitchen cabinets were caulked together in corners, dresser and nightstand drawers were falling out, headboard in one room had been broken and screws were hanging out, game room had no light, vaccum cleaner bag was full which is why when you vaccumed it spit everything out the back, it even had a tag on it from maintenance. If housekeeping would have actually cleaned it would not have been so bad. Outside was littered in trash and random furniture was thrown under house where you had to either move it or step over/on it to get to beach, lounge chairs were broken, no screens in windows and most sliding door blinds were missing. We put trash bins to road twice as email reminder said to do and when we left Saturday morning trash still not picked up.......feel really bad for the next tenants, trash was bagged and in bins but after a week in the hot sun its raunchy! Sorry but no wonder Hatteras Realty is hiring housekeepers and inspectors, the current ones arent doing their job and more than likely this family will not be using them again. Hate it for the actual owners of the home, Id be livid if I was them!
