Great place to stay with kids. The rooms were a bit dated and the carpets could have been cleaner especially around the edges. The pool was fun and the breakfast was nice! East walk into the Mainstreet .

We really enjoyed our first stay at MacDonald Highland. It was instantly a child-friendly atmosphere (we were holidaying with a nearly 3 year old and a 5 month old) and the facilities for them were wonderful. The staff were particularly helpful and the family room set up was great although we had to drop the legs of a single bed down closer to the ground for our toddler as it was a bit too high. Our only very small criticism was the apparent lack of sockets by the side of the bed for phone charging (this would help when konked out after trying to get two young children to sleep!) We look forward to visiting again!

Suits those who like restaurants that double as creches, want to re-live their student hall of residence vibe, don't like coffee and don't mind waiting to check-in while the receptionist finishes chatting.

If you're travelling with kids it will be ideal: there is a soft play, activity room, and pool which are all clean and included. I didn't rate the breakfast, not as good a selection as other hotels and not that tasty. The rooms and communal areas are dated and pretty poor, but fairly clean. The highland hotel has a great veranda which I felt was under utilised by not opening the upstairs bar. For the price I paid it was about right, but it really needs renovating.

Loved everything about the property . Kids had lovely time at the activities park . Did grass sledging, swimming. Kids loved the yellow slide . The breakfast was delicious. The lock of the bathroom door was not working but this was just a minor thing. Apart from that everything was superb . Thanks for making us feel homely and welcome . Lovely place to stay .
