Staff was very friendly. We were unexpectantly given an upgrade at our arrival. This was our first time in Avalon and that made it even more special. The room was beautiful. Great place to stay. We will be back.

I really enjoyed my stay at this property! Amber at reception sent me a message as soon as my room was ready so I was able to get in a bit early, which was greatly appreciated because I had just finished the Trans-Catalina Trail and was in desperate need of a shower. Amber also had great recommendations for restaurants. The property itself is clean and comfortable, and has a two-level roof deck with fantastic views. They also offered beach towels for guests. Overall I would recommend!

Amazing place to stay on Catalina Island! We got a free room upgrade, early check in, and we’re allowed to store luggage before check in and after check out if needed. The rooftop was one of our faves! We ordered dinner from a sushi spot down the street and sat up there for dinner one night. This place was affordable and exceeded every expectation! We can’t wait to come back!

I got the palm room at the back corner when I came. I’m glad they let me checkin before 4, like they originally told me. I checked in at 10. Could smell the cleaning product but the room wasn’t so bad but old. The only issue I had was that the next day, the WC got clogged after I used it. It was a terrible experience and it was my birthday 😭😭 I told the man at the front desk and he came and unclogged it with a plunger. I appreciate his niceness but I felt embarrassed and it was just weird. I believe it has happened previously with other guests so I was wondering why they still let that room out. Later, I went to meet him to change rooms and he told me it was a one time thing but I told him I think it would happen again. He eventually changed my room to one within the building called the captain’s quarter or so. That one was far far better so I was wondering why they would put me in the first one. Was actually offended. But thank God I asked for another room. I appreciate their cleanliness and other than that first room experience, I’d say it’s a nice place, though old.

The only thing I would change is remove the fire place and put in a dresser. There was a small closet but would have loved a dresser for convenience. We ended up leaving most of our clothing in our suitcases the whole time.
