I paid 89$ on a Friday night which is pretty good for austin. There were many others at that price but this one was close to my work conference and had reviews about the staff. The staff was in fact very helpful and friendly, a rarity at more economical hotels. Maddison was very helpful and friendly and quick ti help. My room was big, clean and comfortable. The hotel was quiet overall, though the doors are loud when they close. Area was really safe and a huge array of stores and malls to walk around were a 4 min drive away.

I booked at the Sonesta Simply Suites Austin the Domain area. I was excited and had high expectations. The main reason I picked this hotel was because there was a kitchenette. As I pulled in I could tell from the outside it was an older hotel. As I walked in to check in there were men outside just starring. I already started to have a weird feeling. As checking in I was trying to be open minded. As I got the key to my room I rushed there. I could already tell that I wasn’t going to safe. The place just seemed sketchy. I got in my room and locked the door. The room had a musky smell. The room was dirty had greasy hand prints all over the furniture. I again tried to be open minded. I told myself I’m only here for 4 nights. I did not feel comfortable to even unpack my suitcase. I went into the restroom where there were pubes in the toilet, the tub was stained dirty and the towels had a funky odor. I still decided to take a shower. While showering the water was collecting and collecting. The shower did not drain. After that I packed my items up and went to the front desk and told the male Matthew that I wanted to check out and get a refund. He asked what was wrong and I told him I didn’t feel safe at this hotel and it was sketchy. He told me since I booked through Expedia I would need to contact them. As I got to my car there were a few roaches on the roof. I quickly got in the car and booked another hotel. I got in touch with Expedia which were so sympathetic and understanding.

The room was clean but needed repairs. The lamp over the desk did not work. This hotel needs to be upgraded with USB ports, new furniture, carpet, paint and fixtures.

It doesn't look great looking from the outside but everything in the room is just clean and neat. The frontdesk staff is also very helpful and efficient. Was concerned about the condition of the laundry but it turned out great. Plenty of free parking place and it is only 20mins from downtown Austin.

This is not a fancy place. It is a bit worn around the edges and minimally staffed. The room I stayed in was very clean but there was an "industrial" odor that permeated the space; I became attenuated to it after an hour but it was noticeable every time I came in the room anew. The place was quiet, the bed was comfortable, and the kitchen space was quite functional. If you're looking for amenities, keep looking. If you want an affordable spot to stay for a few days, this is fine. Once you learn the roads around the place, it is in a spot to easily access much of the Austin area.

The hotel is in a weird location and the lighting isn’t well lit. I was solo traveler and the taxi driver seemed creepy. I was not sure if the hotel was open once we pulled up. So, the taxi driver was being nice I guess by walking me into the hotel. But, I was very nervous about the experience. Everything seemed okay after getting checked in. Then the taxi driver call me back that morning saying he will pick me up to my destination. So, that when okay! Either way my first expression of the hotel was feeling of the building being empty or closed. The staff was very nice and friendly
