Lovely old hotel with lots of history which was beautiful to stay in. We had a loft room with a lovely bay window to look out across the town as the snow came down. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. The only area that could do with some love was the bathroom which felt a bit tired. Breakfast had lots of variety, including some traditional Norweigian options. Overall a lovely place to stay and I would recommend, it was also great to slow down on the journey from Oslo to Bergen and spend time in Flam

Hotel staff was very nice. Even when we accidentally blew the breaker. The only reason we didn’t rate this a 5 is because the mattress had been sat on much it was permanently indented. Time to replace it. It was like sleeping on a slope. After the electrical issue, we didn’t complain.

This is an old, historic hotel. I didn’t have expectations of luxury. However - “mountain view” rooms should be called “non fjord view”. I suppose mountain view is technically correct but it’s a little too cute by half to get around advising people in advance that they don’t actually get a fjord view for the high prices. Also - the heater in our room didn’t work when we checked in, and it was absolutely freezing. I had to go down to the front desk twice to ask them to turn the heat on - despite my switching it on, there was something wrong with the connection and the reception staff had to come with me to my room to jiggle around a cord to get it to actually turn on. The woman was lovely, but you’d think at the prices they are charging they could replace a heater with a faulty connection? This is a hotel in the mountains - the room shouldn’t be freezing cold when guest check in. We enjoyed breakfast but didn’t linger as we were catching the early train to Myrdal. The selection was good, although a bit more fresh fruit would have been nice (I don’t like eating meat and heavy food in the morning - but that’s just my preference).

This is our second time staying at this hotel - it is a great choice when in Flåm. The breakfast is fantastic, with many options. The views from the hotel are beautiful, and the staff friendly.

The hotel really needs upkeep and renovation..The cost of accommodation and what the hotel has to offer is out of kilter. Setting is excellent ,service is fair.

Great location with amazing view. The hotel needs to be revamped as it very tired. The rooms need to be better appointed. There was no facial tissues and the bath tubs with showers were bordering on dangerous to get in and out. The restaurant needs ta better more modern menu with a lot more vegetarian options.

Nice room, comfortable but small bed! Room was not especially large but bathroom was a nice size with lovely heated floors! Breakfast was excellent. Beautiful, convenient location and a gorgeous historic hotel. Would definitely stay again if I return to Flåm.

Front desk people were helpful. Dining room staff (both dining rooms) were mixed. Some were helpful and some much less so. The public areas and dining rooms were beautiful. Our room, which we upgraded to have a balcony, was surprisingly spartan. No safe, no room phone, no refrigerator, no lotion or hair conditioner. A single liquid soap for hands, body and shampoo. Room needed some TLC with a split in the upholstered bed frame, door jams beat up, a big black mark in the tub. The tub/shower was dangerous with a big step up and over (tub on some sort of lifted base), and then getting out from the slippery porcelain at an end that was sloped was precarious and we are fit people. The view of the fjord was stunning, but the room is more like a dorm room and needs updates. Plugs to charge electronics are found only at the baseboard level. The 3rd floor dining room food was very well prepared and delicious. The buffet breakfast had many options, but hot items were not tasty. Would have liked some nondairy milk options for cereal, coffee and tea.
