Set above Onetangi with an uninterrupted sweep of blue water, The Onetangi Lookout by Stay Waiheke is a calm, sun-filled retreat made for slow mornings, long beach days, and evenings on the deck as the coastline settles into dusk. With wide views from every level and the beach, cafés, and vineyards all within an easy walk, this is relaxed Onetangi living with comfort built into every part of the stay.
The Space:
The home is designed around its outlook. Light pours through the main level, where the kitchen, dining space, and lounge all face the bay. Large sliders open to a generous deck with shade screens, outdoor seating, and a BBQ, a space that naturally becomes the centre of the day, whether you’re enjoying breakfast with the water in front of you or winding down after a swim.
A full bathroom and laundry sit just behind the living area for easy access.
Upstairs, the master suite feels tucked away and peaceful, with a picture window framing the views, a queen bed, its own full bathroom with a shub bath, and a private balcony overlooking the coastline.
The second bedroom is on the lower level and opens straight out to a sheltered courtyard with an outdoor shower, ideal after the beach and a nice private spot to escape the sun.
The layout works well for couples, two friends, or a small family wanting comfort, views, and closeness to the beach with a simple, flowing indoor outdoor rhythm.

The area is known for its relaxed pace, coastal views, and easy access to vineyards. Casita Miro, Stonyridge, and Tantalus are all close by, and The Heke, Waiheke’s brewery and distillery is a short drive or bus ride away.
This end of the island has a nice balance of quiet spaces and good food and wine options, with everything close enough that you don’t have to plan your days around long drives.

Onetangi is well connected, and buses run regularly from the beach. From here they stop at major wineries, including The Heke, before continuing into Oneroa village and down to the passenger ferry at Matiatia.
