We liked the room but didn’t get offered a bassinet with our room, staff didn’t like being there at all. Hotel was clean, bath tub was really good. We had an infant and it was not very included, the room came with just two towels and as mentioned no bassinet. Parking situation is crazy, $35 for every time you leave the car park. But again, room was really nice. Spacial and comfortable, felt good going there after a long way of walking.

We have been to the Grand Hotel a few times now and have enjoyed every stay. Staff are courteous and helpful. The hotel is clean and has a pleasant and relaxed vibe. Our room is always clean and well presented. Parking is much cheaper than competitor hotels nearby. Has all the amenities you might need - pool, spa, sauna, gym, multiple restaurants and bars.

A smile would be nice

Although a lovely hotel, it should not be listed as a VIP hotel. I booked for myself and my colleague though this account as VIPs and we received very different service. Not a single front desk staff member gave a smile nor did they remind us of our credit. No additional service, room upgrade or greeting was offered. Later my colleague recevied a phone call and some wine but I did not receive anything. He is very happy and returning to the hotel but I believe this hotel should not be listed on the app as VIP access.

The hotel is well located and many restaurants are in walking distance. There is a casino in the hotel across the street which you can access from a bridge that connects the two if that is your thing. The Weta Workshop is also there which you can tour for a fee, it was a great find. There was one issue with the heater the first day we were there, but the staff did their best to correct the issue and remedy the situation which in the end we were happy with. The gym is nice and the kids really enjoyed the indoor pool!

Really friendly and helpful staff. There were a few little things like remote not working in the room which when that is how you find out the dinning options etc was frustrating also the shower was broken. Only 1 of the shower heads worked. Luckily my partner knew how to fix it but just not something you expect in place you pay sp much for.
